Ive been playing this little free RTS game lately and its extreamly adictive, its loads of fun thow, and you can lose yourself for hours in the games, it does have decent grafics and the gameplay is outstanding, there is already loads of maps and mods for it out there and plenty of people to play with. so if you like giant robots, big guns, nuke blast craters (yes it has deformable ground) head on over and check it out http://taspring.clan-sy.com/

Reminds me of Total Annihilation.
Me, I hail from Thunder Bay, Ontario. I'm under-played in stereos.

TA Spring is a project aiming to create a new RTS. The current goal is to make it run content from the game Total Annihilation.

Yep, Total anihilation except it's uglier and not as handy.
TA must be free now. I wonder why they remade it. Ridiculous.

Nice transition Skip

I would download it but my college network is a piece of trash and only downloads certain file types. Anyone feel like packing it up in a rar and sending it to me

most of the people who play RF now are ones who played for a long time, theres not very many new RF players now unfortunatly

Because it's under the GPL, which I refer to as the "General Public License". Basically, programmers use this (and the GNU license) when their stuff is free. Its an agreement that the user owns the stuff and it's to be distributed for free. The GPL just means that some of it is copyrighted, but everything on the site is free (thus, it's not the full-version of the game, but still free).

This game's going on my download list (40 MB, it'll be a long time (updated iTunes, 33 MB, took 5 hours!)).
