Post 510 / 1 Developer Splash Damage<------never heard of those guys is currently making Enemy Territory:Qake Wars.Beleive it or not it has id,s new Mega Texture technology and its heavily team based This calss based FPS is set during the Strogg invasion of Earth,the story that underpins the Quake universe.You,ll pound the servers as either a member of the EDF(The guys from RF )or a Strogg<--------(booooooooo )And read this it has over 40 vehicles.In other news some unknown developer is making Starship Troopers.And this game has a mighty engine.It can support over 1000 things on screen at one time Big guns a lot of insecte.I,m sure buying both of these games I love L4Y!     Lace    Posted 16th Sep 2005 8:08am Post 460 / 1216 The team behind ET:Quake Wars are the same that made Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. The new game is running on a modified version of the Doom 3 engine, and is the successor to Wolfenstein: ET. The game should be ready for release sometime in 2006. A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.     Equinox   Posted 16th Sep 2005 8:32am L4Y Member Post 365 / 468 Starship Troopers does feature an impressive engine, suitably named Swarm. Even though I found the demo impossibly hard it really is something to be rushed by literally hundreds of enemies at the same time, all with their own AI, all in real time. It really gives the "Bugs, sir! Millions of them" feel from the movie. Although the engine seems far from optimised and quite buggy in the demo. Yeah it is great But it is 3rd in my favourite movie lists.1 is the Alien Quadrilogy 2 is The Predator movies.I just cant wait for the game to come out.I looked at the screens and they were fab.400 on screen not counting you and your fellow bug food i mean marines just the bugs.The AI is superb they all attack indivudually,behave different and they can learn!(anyone can make AI learn just need the techniques )I wonder what will be the sysytem requirements when it comes out?Maybe Lace can tell me?
