Welcome!
Post 1 / 3

Hey L4Y, how about adding a section for CS 1.6? Many people are sticking to 1.6 due to the constant updates in source. So I actually beleive there may be more people that are playing 1.6 and plan to stick with it, making it more popular. I don't know, give it some thought? Thanks...

Yes well, Source offers better gfx, models, etc.

1.6 WAS a good game, but once I played Source... I was addicted. Also, the updates don't take long. Some take 1 min. to 10 min. for me. And I am on DSL @ 1.5Mb/s.

1.6 I believe was brought up a while back, but people wanted Source better because of the Source engine, gfx, etc.

My Opinion:

thats like asking: How about a doom 1 & 2 , Rise of the traids, or a Hexen Section.

Thus you have heard more than just me. And tagmaster brings up a great point.... Move forward.

And to add a little to tagmaster's post. An eg. would be to downgrade from a 2GHz processor to a 1GHz... Which would be better?! Choosing 1.6 is like choosing the 1GHz over the 2GHz and saying it is faster and better.
Even though a 2GHz AMD could run faster than a 4GHz P4 in some instances, that is besides the point of my example. Plus, Intel processors use 32 stages to execute a process, whereas AMD uses only 12 stages and thus executes the process faster.

If you would still like to find out more information about adding this game(s) to Levels4You, please post in the Game Requests Forum.

I play 1.6 from time to time as i dont actually have Source, and couldnt it just be intergrated with the CSS section?

I used IE and it says CS:S General... Buggy IE!

Ok, it is in Game Requests.

And no, it could not be integrated with the CSS section, but maybe if we had a CS section with 2 sub sections beneath it(CSS and CS1.6). I dunno.

The idea is not bad. I play CS 1.6 and i absolutely don't plan on buying HL2 which is far too expensive for what it looks like and would probably hardly run on my PC.

On the other hand do we really need to discuss about CS. There is nothing to say. Steam downloads the maps and even the forum for CSS is nearly empty and desert, so...

I for one would rather have the maps already present in my cstrike folder rather than go have dinner while steam downloads all maps on server.

You should give HL2 a try if ou like 1.6 - it is an interesting change...some people like it and some don't.

I plan on getting HL2 + CSS + DOD:S soon but my money is still being put into my PC so wont have it for a while longer ... ive also heard that CSS is easier then 1.6 as it has less recoil and and stamina is not as easy to wear out ...

It is for sure a different experiance is you are used to 1.6 as I was...though you definetly need to computer system for it or your results will be terrible
