Quoting pking | Quoting skvlad01 | Quoting mad_ferrit | American cars are crap.... |
dam straight. who the hell wants a car that is as big as a sky scraper, handles like a shoping cart and can go an "amazing 300 yards on 8 gallons of fuel" lol american cars suck |
ROFL thats the funniest thing evr and its so true american cars are big and go a few metere then have to be re filled thats why most of em are used in movies and stuff when they crush cars lol |
you guys are full of S$%# most american cars now days are economy cars: ford focus, dodge neon, chevy cavalier, chevy aveo, chevy cobalt
really you're all talking about older models
BTW, here my favorite car:

just because it can take a jump off a terrace like something out of the dukes of hazzard (long story)
or one of these bad arses:

its kind of a tie ...
I don't really preferr sports cars over smaller cars because
1) i like fixing up the car myself
2) sports cars are expensive
3) you wouldn't even think about jumping or racing someone in a car like that ... which limits the fun. |

Quoting redfac18 | I also doubt GM will go under, their sales are on the rise and they outsold Ford by 17,000 cars. GM also reasoned with the worker union thing to reduce retirement costs to former employees, that was what was killing them because when it was set up people didn't expect people to live until 70-80 years old. People like to see older cars reborn, so GM is going in the right direction with the camaro. And for you jap car fans the prius MPG has been reduced to 38 because you have to drive like a grandma to achieve the EPA rating thats on the sticker. GM is still the largest auto manufacture in the world, so when an emergency, like a fuel price spike, it takes a long time to reorganize such a large company for it.
PS I'd like to see a chevyII/Nova or a bel-air again, as long as it isn't like their 2002 concept. |
I agree and disagree. GM is hurting but until they get rid of all the top level management, they are gona go downhill. They forgot how to make cars and it will be years before they will ever get it straightened out, losing mosterous amounts of business cuz they do not make a single nice car.
Also, cutting peoples retirement benefits is really severly wrong, this is directly affecting my family Pensions are not even part of GM's money, they were set up long before 401Ks and employees payed into them directly from their paychecks. Cutting these benefits is theft. GM had a record sales year and also a record loss year. Also, I believe they payed thier crappy executives record bonuses. |
NOTHING BEATS CARS WITH WHEELIE BARS!!!! WEll... maybe an ice cold beer! |

Quoting NoClanFrank | You bought your first Camaro for 200 bucks?
Are you sure you didn't accidently buy a Ford Pinto. |
L M A O !
It was not a Found On Road Dead Pinto! The trick is to take advantage of desperate people who need fast cash.
In fact it was a 1981 Berlinetta Camaro...

Besides NoClanFrank didn't I see you driving yer Dodge Caravan the other day? |

Im pretty sure most people would race 'sports cars'. Go to a drift day or drago combat. Most the cars you see there are in the category. Toyota Soarer, Skylines and 200's, even porsches etc.... Racing is pretty much what the cars are made for. The engines arent in there to look at. |

yeah, i would too ... if they didn't cost so much. pretty much everyone i know with a sports car really only pampers it by not driving it or driving like a grandma Unfortuately there is only one track around this area and they are expensive ... that is why you get a car you picked up for 100$ and beat the living crud out of it ... much cheaper in the end. |

you all know when it comes to power you can't beat the americans. maby going around fancy corners and such and thats it.

you guys can't beat the proformance of this with a 4 cylinder. if you think you can your crazy.
This engine is not at all for looks.
the trick of speed is not spin a crank really fast until your half shafts break, the trick is more cylinders
And to nitro, I am sorry this is affecting your family, but if GM does rise back up it will probaby make up for it's dues, hopefully. |

It's effecting his family?
How about he gets a job and help his family, his gaming family.
Any way, it seems that every time somebody makes a comment about something American. We get others claiming that the product sicks, well all in all we know it's just an opinion and not a fact.
Those that say that American cars suck, they are the ones that suck, lick and swallow, just like all humans. Even the non-American humans. Now that's a fact!
redfac18 it was Nitro that showed me that engine a while ago. Now that is real horse power. Unlike what he likes to use...Nitro! |

Here is another camaro concept car. GM actually said that if there is enough exitment over this car then they will built a production model.

Then there is always this bad boy. At 500 HP and 27 MPG on the highway it is hard to beat.

Nitro is right on the money about the over priced execs at GM (And any other company for that matter) as there is no exec worth millions of dollars. They need to fire the top management for letting GM get to this point in the first place.
Just for trivia:
On average the first $1500.00 from a GM car goes to pay there pension obligations to now retired GM workers.
On average the first $300.00 from a Toyota goes to pay Pension payments.
One of the downfalls to being one of the oldest car manufactures still around. |

Sweet looking car!
btw, How much is fuel in the US? Its bloody extortionate here (UK), ~90p per litre. That works out at about $6.50 per gallon roughly, I think.
Thank god I'm a cyclist! Much cheaper :-D, though a bit life threatening... |

cyrus5 we complain about gas prices here a lot but at the same time I know that we actually pay a lot less than around the world.
Here is Los Angeles, California we pay an average of $3.28 dollars a gallon for regular unleaded(87 octane). Then again at the same time a little more than a year ago, it was about $1.19 dollars a gallon. Which might explain why we like gas guzzlers. |

By god! I've had a plan! we could sell petrol on ebay! We'd make millions! as long as it costs less than $2 per gallon to ship to the uk...
