$2.60 here in Middleton/Bolivar/Memphis/Jackson, Tennessee.
But hey, imports get great gas mileage for sure, but american muscle... Just the way the engine sounds makes you wanna never bring out your import
However, the Nissan Skyline, such as my previous post with the pic, they kick CENSORED Tune the compression valves and you get that phissing sound when shifting gears |

How on earth did we go from American muscle cars being reborn to VW's and Pinto's?
(Although that was a pretty great idea (Pinto); build a car that detonated itself on impact so you never, ever had to have the thing fixed)
As for gas prices, I plan to have my 2009 Challenger converted to diesel. |

As most threads here, they all go off topic sooner or later. I could delete all the non topic stuff but what would be the point.
sobe the gas here in California is a reformulated gas to help reduce emissions. Why they do just do it to all the gas is beyond me.
skvlad01 I remember when I was younger. Diesel was always more expensive than regular gas, now the prices are about the same.
Graphyte read what I posted above to skvlad01.

I for one am all for it. But I don't think the oil companies will allowed it any time soon. They have too much money and they have a lot of politicians in their pockets. |

Gas here is about $2.27 a gallon and it needs to get back down to about 67 cents like it should be.
And about the thread getting off topic, Actually there really isn't any reason for anybody to have posted anything after the very first post because all this post was about was showing the new camaro. But then if you want a successful forum then the off topic stuff is what keeps people coming back and makes people post a comment that they otherwise would not. |

what sickens me the most is how toyota made these hybrid promises, with the prius, to americans, but when americans drive them they only get aout 36-38 MPG when you can almost get the same in a malibu or taurus. I think the problem lies when people no longer care about what they drive. I can remember my grandfather always talking about being a ford man and driving nothing else and my uncle goes out and buys a toyota, because he has no preferance. I think it all comes down to working on them or something, I prefer that big block 572 over any import tuner car because it is so much simpler to use and delivers a butt-load of horse power. about 620 without NO2 or fancy boost systems. my 305 in my 85 Chevy is so easy to work on its funny. You get in a new car you have to unbolt the motor to put new spark plugs in, its crazy. I remeber going to some assembly, dont remeber what, but this guy was talking about cars so I thought I'd talk with him. I told him about my problem with my intake manifold and this went way over his head.
So in conclusion, I think the less you know about cars the less likely you will have a preferance. |

lol in Australia Diesel has all ways been 1/3 of the price of regular fuel untill now. about 6 years ago regular fuel cost bout 85 cents a liter and diesel cost bout 25-30 cents a liter. now regular costs bout 115-125 cents and diesel costs 135-140 cents
a rip off for a waste product of fuel production. |

Same in Canada. My bro bought a nice Dodge diesel heavy-duty truck because diesel prices never fluctuated like gasoline did. But now the prices have gone up - they still don't fluctuate but they are about 20 cents higher than 18 months ago and are almost as high as gas. At least the truck get better mileage on diesel than it's hemi, gas counterpart.
And no one is complaining about the sacrilage of converting a sweet gas powered mucle car to diesel? Those babies are designed with fuel economy to be the last thing you worry about. |

Hoser Graphyte why would anybody want to convert a sports car to diesel.
You might want to convert any Toyota car out there to a real car from a real car company like GM.
Also if you want a closer look at what the Camaro might look like when it's done, then go here:
No not there, here <--link
If you have 23 minutes to spare and a fast interner connection, you might want to check out their video of the auto show.

Back on topic. I like the look of both the charger and the camero, but can't help to think that all U. S. car companies have this retro thing going. Both of them look real retro to me. I hope they keep the front end of that charger. I don't like the look of the 2006. I can picture Steve McQueen behind the wheel of that charger. Sort of like this...
