Sunday's New Q4 Files! |

Some new files for you all to play with this Sunday! I plan on uploading more files early this week, so keep a look out! 
Also, we are asking for members of the community to help out and upload Quake 4 files for the site. I know that theres good files out there, we just need to get most on Levels4you! Any help would be muchly appriciated.

Wait we are doing Linux files now? 
I downloaded that map pack but in the windows version. 
I might add that I do like the multi-player part of this game but forget about hosting a gave unless you have friends joining. It can take hours before somebody joins "your" server.
Also, is there file out there that allows you to configure your dedicated home server a lot easier than the way it is now. Right now I don't know how to set it up to change the maps randomly or just the ones I want. This game needs bit support, I read rumors that they are working on that. I'll keep my fingers crossed. If it doesn't happen. I doubt I will be playing this game very much or that I would recommend it to others.  |

i dunno, General linked me to it...
for some reason, its weird... i cant copy and paste into my browser window... maby its time for me to get firefox... what do you think?
if i can get this working ill upload a few files and make an update tonight. theres already one uploaded waiting for me, say 2-3 more and ill make an update |

I have that file, but it doesn't have any instruction on it...
This is what it comes with...
DESCRIPTION: This allows you to host a Quake 4 dedicated server
in REALTIME, HIGH, and NORMAL speeds. If REALTIME is too fast for
your computer and it crashes, just do HIGH and everyones pings
will decrease, and everyones connection speeds will increase.
Keep in mind this will slow your computer down quite a bit, but
your server will become better. |

hmmm lety me see...
here,
HOW TO INSTALL: Extract all the .zip contents to your QUake 4 folder.
EXAMPLE: "C:\Program Files\id Software\Quake 4"
It must be this directory, if you installed Quake 4 to a different
directory, then open the .bat files with a text reader program,
and change the path to your game's installed path.
im guessing you do that and then run one of the BAT files. |

Forget it.  It's too much of a hassle. The only way I will run a dedicated server now is IF:
1. Friends of mine want a game.
2. They make it easier to create a dedicated server, where I can choose what maps I want to play a lot easier. You know like in UT2004 and Red Faction. |
