Can't anybody play a civil game of Red Faction any more? Why does everybody feel the need to be complete pricks for no reason? These days I quit games because of the the other idiots in there. I end up not playing RF at all over it. I don't understand why everybody has to be so rude to each other all of the time. Why can't I just play a game without getting insulted or laughed at or accused of something? |

Maybe its worms. Bad behaviour can often be linked to intestinal parasites. I recommend colonic irrigation with a good strong vermifuge. 
You are right though. Some people can get quite nasty for no real reason. It helps to develop a thick skin and just laugh that kind of thing off. As soon as you bite back, you just aggravate the problem.
Unfortunately, the tongue above all other organs is the most difficult to control.... unless you're incontinent and then maybe there is another lol. |

It depends on which server you go to. Some servers are wild and out of control. Places where even the guy who runs the server is full of distasteful dialog.
It is the server who sets the tone of game play.
I have a set of criteria that I apply to the players in Dinner is Served:
- I will BAN players who insult or intimidate other players
- I will KICK players who display eccentric behaviours and/or questionable dialog
- I will BAN players who mod
- I will KICK/BAN players who drum or glitch
I also have a set of criteria that I apply to myself when hosting Dinner is Served:
- I will not insult or intimidate my guests
- I will not participate in eccentric behaviours and/or questionable dialog
- I will not mod
- I will not drum or glitch
- I will not disable RCON to punish my guests
My intention is to establish a safe place to game, for pros and beginners. I have a group of RCON Holders that are trustworthy, with two others who have applied and another who is too shy to answer three questions apparently (NCF).
So my advice for problem making players?
- Run yer own vulgar server.
- Run yer own glitching server.
- Run yer own modding server.
- If you don't like getting kicked or banned then don't do crazy crap in my server, got it?
That guy who came into my server last night and committed suicide 51 times in a row - was that a cry for help or did your game malfunction? You didn't respond when we asked you what was going on - so I kicked you for your unresponsive eccentric behaviour. Two players left because of you. I didn't recognize your smurfing name and I don't keep track of IPs. If you want to commit suicide once every second - do it in yer own suicidal server. |

 The only thing I don't do it drum. My hands are too big to do it. But I can Babalu.

Was that your server last night. No it wasn't. It was a [FM] clan server, which apparently some of my clan members are coming back to play Red Faction...but only on Wednesdays.
Any way, what I was doing was what I like to call Jihad style tactics. I would grab a remote mine or a grenade and try to get real close to other players. I would try to take them out as well as my self every time.

Johnny_Suave other players can be very rude. You should have seen the dialog that a lot of other player typed when I fragged them along with myself.  Even after I told them I was doing Jihad war tactics. But through out this whole time. I didn't get mad and I just ignored them or typed in the words "Jihad". Moral of the story here is to ignore it and stay away from Hapa Hanu's server. He will ban you for drumming. Try the guitar method. It worked for Elvis it might work for you.

Some may think that I am a harsh host but I have seen confrontations arise from folks who take advantage of the game. It is these confrontations that I seek to stop.
If folks play the game it was intended to be then 90% of the problems it has would evaporate.
Besides, I had to let off some steam in my previous post. My tirade has gotten the better of me.  Perhaps it is decent in one respect - I have spelled out for all time - exactly my perspective on RF, playing and serving. Shocking wasn't it?
But seriously - if someone wants or has RCON in Dinner then it has to be public so everyone will know. I don't want any misunderstandings in this regard. I have seen problems between RCON holders in other servers.
Johnny_Suave, sorry for hijacking your thread with my own beefs. I have seen you play and I have not considered you to be taking advantage of the game. Nor any reason to pick a fight with you or any one who plays RF. I am here to learn, help and play a great game.  |

I have to have an open system for my server. If I do things out of view then I face the prospect of a pandora's box of bad things. I would rather prevent the damage then do damage control. I have put a lot of forethought into this and a lot of other aspects of hosting a server.
An open policy is the best policy.
I have a forum space for RCON and that is what it is for - to show everyone who wants it and who has it.

I much prefer CTF so I am always trying to get a game of that, but the only place that actually has rcons once in a while is Viper 3 and I don't like playing there. That's why I started railing, but sometimes I get sick of that.
I just needed to blow off steam. People are terrible lately. I really think this is the issue that will finally make me quit playing.... I can see it happening. |

If Johnny is the ball then who will be the net. Which I take it represents people that are out to get you, the ones you need to go through in order to get through life.
I understand what you are saying now. Don't get caught in what you others say about you. Just go pass right through the them(the net).
Nothing but net.
In life you will find a lot of nets that block your path. Ignore them, they are only there to remind you of the good that is in your heart. You know what happens at the end of a championship basketball game, the winning team cuts off the net. Be a champ and the rest will fall into space. What the heck is CTF anyway. Is that even a real game.
I have one more thing to say to you Johnny_Suave.
If you are ever somewhere and you see a light coming towards you. For Heaven's sake move out of the way. It's a car and you are standing in the middle of the road.

I quit halo 2 just because of the 13 year olds... i dont mean that like every 13 year old is a idiot... but they would constantly be commentating on their game.. doh.
I stick to battlefield 2 modern combat on xbox live now... or timesplitters im still 112th in the world!  |

Yeah Kiliad, you are a pretty good motivational speaker.
CTF is an amazing game Frank! The skill! The cunning! It should be an Olympic sport as far as I'm concerned. Can you imagine the lucrative life of a professional Capture the Flag player?
