Yes, a very long title. I wanted to ask and maybe start a disscussion about a possible mod. Probably one of the true max payne mods which would change and create a unified max payne...What if the original max payne story...ran on the max payne 2 engine. Now im not saying this hasn't been thought up..because it probably has. But either having convert the entire orginal max payne over keeping the same graphics and original everything to the max payne 2 engine. OR...taking a wider step and re creating the entire game as a mod for max payne 2. using the same graphics, doing some remodeling and taking max payne modding to a whole new level. I myself do not mod. although i wish i did, i cannot stress enough the lack of time i have to learn and impatience that curses me. this would be simply too much for one person, or even a team of 5 people..but what if l4y max payne community had worked together in a huge collaboration to do so. using every source available and allowing everyone to help. I think this would truely become one if not the greatest mod in the world...well..kinda. but think about it..its definatly became a dream of mine.

Sounds great. But I think you're asking too much. But if you want help, then I will be happy to
I like you. I'll kill you last.

See im not asking for it, and if i come off that way im not asking a single sole person..i know everyone on here can do somthing over watching years of max payne modding and being around them someone has somthing to contribute..say if you can only make textures thats great! you would be usefull for alot..say if someone did concept art..thats fantastic..they could contribute in designing and drawing a few pictures anything would help..its like UNICEF but for max payne..everyone can contribute no matter what the ammount. all we need is consideration and some dedication.

Apart from the Subway levels which has been publically released in their source format, there's no way to do such import thing, so it would need a LARGE recreating part. (Not worth IMO, Max Payne 1 was good in its way, with its graphics, death anims etc... )

The idea has been thought up before but it was put down because of copy rights.

Yea to me, Max Payne 1 was far more superior in its own way. But if somebody can try to recreate MP1 to MP2, it'll be pretty impressive. Im not sure if I can help in any way but the only thing I know how to mod is particle FX.

i prefer mp2 a lot more. The reason for this, is cuz u can reload during bullet time (i kno it seems like such a small thing), but this helps the game flow much better. Its also got better graphics and such, but i think that mp1 in mp2 engine wud be better than mp2 (assuming as it was not buggy, and the mapping and stuff was just as good)

You know what? Recently I got back a copy of MP1 and installed it again. And what do u know it still makes me smile. I still enjoyed it. I have MP2 but personally i like MP1's story and plot better. And max was more dashing coz he's younger then. If u want MP1 then play MP1. I dont think there's a need to convert it.

If ur purpose is just to unite the whole community... - well good luck man.

Suggestion: Reskin Max in MP2 with when he was younger looking in MP1. That should do the trick. I guess..

i agree with fletch, theres some stuff about mp2 thats so much better, but the mp1 story and levels are better. Perhaps tho u cud just make a small mp1 mod making it a little more like mp2 (im not sure if this is possible)

Max Payne 1 ported to Max Payne 2 is just too much..!!
....I don't think there will be people willing to work on that

But, porting Max Payne 1 mods and maps to Max Payne 2 should be kinda easier...
For instance, the Ultimate Doom mod for Max Payne 1 that was recently submitted by Walter93 (and me) would be just great in Max Payne 2....
At least, those Doom maps could be ported as DMW maps for MP2
