Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is out now! Once we get the construction set down we can all start creating things. Any ideas/plans for a section on Levels4you? |

We should make a mod that allows mere mortals with non-ridiculous pc's to play it!
Disappointed that my nvidia fx is the bottom cat of graphics card now, and I am going to start wingeing alot... maybe its not so dire, its a reasonable fx5900xt but it still only gose so far towards cutting the mustard.
From what ive seen of the game though (screenshots) it 'looks' awesome, just hope it has some level of gameplay that isnt going to piss me off as quickly as morrowind. the last thing i remember was stealing some whoopass armour then getting my CENSORED whooped because i was a million and one levels away from being able to wear it and the guards were better than me at fighting. Then I reformatted and forgot to put the game back on.
It didnt build up enough kinetic energy in me to allow it to survive the periodic PC cleansing ritual. |

Comes out tomorrow here
I doubt i will make anything... The game is going to rock!! Morrowind was good IMO, but it all depends on what type of games you like. Anyway if you get bored, just go into the console and enter in some cheats. I did that when i got bored. |

I never really got going with Morrowind on the Xbox, but after seeing plenty of screenshots of Oblivion, i may have to get it and give it a whirl. |

I didn't much care for Morrowind either, but I must say that Oblivion is probably one of the best games i've played in years. I have it on xbox 360, I highly doubt my computer could run it at a decent level (I refuse to play anything on low). |

I found Morrowind boring. Good game but a lack of multiplayer for that environment killed the life of the game for me... there was nothing keeping me interested.
As they've done the same with Oblivion I wont be buying it. |

Im running the game on high settings:
Not overly impressed by the game, but its fun lots of things to do... some glitches annoy me, and it seems a lot smaller than Morrowind... but you do get to ride around on horese |

Played it as soon as i got home. When you first walk out of the dungeon to the big open world you just can't help but let yout jaw drop.
As for glitches etc.. they'll probably sort those out in patches. |

I have mine on high settings.
When i started it up, i expected to see it say low/medium, but it said high! Quite surprised.
Only thing is that i only have 512MB of RAM, but i\'m getting an extra 1536MB, so that will give me 2Gb. Hopefully that will make the game run a lot faster! |

I've got an Ati 256 X800 XL, plus a 1 gig of ram, and an AMD 64 3200 processor.. Im buying another gig of ram soon as the game sometimes uses over 500mb of system memory... I dont see how a machine with just 512 ram could run it on high settings. |

cool, I've got an fx 5900 at the mo, thinking of upgrading, have same proc and same amount of ram, not pci-e though, so I would either have to go for what is likely the last of the AGP, the nv7800, or bite the bullet and upgrade the motherboard. Still a bit miffed that my rig is getting min spec'd again! But a new gfx card would mean that I could put my fx into my pc at work and play CENSORED at lunch! |

I was wondering the same thing. It says that the minimum is 512Mb, so surely it should be on low/med. V.Strange indeed, i'm not complaining though |

It will still work, jsut be a bit slower since the textures wont all fit in to native memory. You just page from ram everynow and then.
You'll probably find that just having the most recently used textures resident would give you performance enough. As you move to new areas the new textures would gradually replace the old ones in the cache. Its only at peak areas where 512mb of textures are in use in a single scene that performance would drop. |

Well my friend is getting me 512MB for £10 on wednesday. So that will give Oblivion a bit of boost. Getting the extra gig later on this month |

I don't like it much... Too much walking and even the run speed is quite slow... Also it has retarded AI and half the time when the screen zooms up to talk to someone it's a view of the side of there head or a wall or something. Also it seams dull... not very much action and when your walking through a forest it makes you want to sleep because of the the light relaxation music or something like that playing in the background.. Also the graphics don't seem much better then like F.E.A.R or something... Also even with the draw distance at its highest if you look a bit in the distance its extremely low res and ugly looking... Also guards seam like there imposable to kill... I stole a horse to get around faster and a guard beat me down... later I broke into a house and when I came out 2 guards started chasing me and they never seam to die... So I ran out of the village and they were still chasing me, I jumped into water and tried to swim away and they swam after me... They never go away... There like annoying little kids that wont leave you alone The best thing about the game would be the changing sky and weather.. thats cool. Overall I would probably give the game about a 75% out of 100% if I were a reviewer for PC Gamer or something. |
