It has been so long that there is no new and innovative MOD for Max Payne 2. Plus... Ultra Violet sucks. It is very sucks for a result from a well-known Gun Katas inventor , Kurt Wimmer. I wonder where all of this end up to. Usually, people like Kenneth Young will give new direction for MOD innovation. Now.....nothing.

I do. I'm making some scenes in a movie that is closely to the ultraviolet's trailer. Instead of milla jovovich on the bike, Max Payne will be on it. And especially the scene when boss is gathering 500 soldiers. I remake it and change the boss with Vladimir, the guards with the cleaners (in black suit). The tricky one is to make the helicopter scene. This is where Max will be shot with a Minigun while he is riding Harley Davidson. And then there's a scene where Mona uses Gun Katas in a chamber. Basicly, I change the whole character in Ultraviolet's trailer with Max Payne, Mona, and Vladimir. I also put my voice in it when Vladimir will going to say "Are you mental?"

I didnt really care about the Ultraviolet movie...so pointless and a waste of gunkata usage...

it is the same principle as you make Max's white car (in the beginning of the game). The different and the challenge are :
1. you have to modify and add a certain animation (max in position of riding a bike).
2. you have to make that bike.
3. make an optical illusion through map (so the player will assume that max is in a high speed chase)

The challenging one is to make the scene where 500 soldiers are pointing their gun to Max. It seems that it will cost you a high use of memory during the scene. I just put 50 soldiers and the animation is going in a very low frame rate. But the effects are far more cool than in Ultraviolet. In ultraviolet, the character is actually a hologram. In this mod, Max will be jump to the back of his car and take cover from those bullets.

Anyway, there is one more project that comes in my mind. This is part of this mod too. There will be a scene where Max will perform a gunfight on a truck. Remember the scene in Matrix reloaded where morpheus was fighting with the agent? Now imagine that Morpheus will be replaced by Max and the agent will be replaced by Vladimir. I'm still trying to put the code into Vladimir animation. So, when the scene begins, you will see Vladimir and Max are fighting with Gunkatas on a high speed truck. To add the tension, in a certain time, the cleaners are climbing up to the truck and begin to shoot Max.

sounds like the motorcycle thing is some sort of cutscene...

the motorcycle scene is going to be some sort of cutscene. At first, I was going to make only a movie. But in the end, I am thinking that there is so much thing that can be improved rather than just making movie. I am thinking that this mod is going to be called as : Dark Vengeance.

The story is taken time before the Final Scene of Max Payne 2. When Max is going to chase Vladimir, he is accidently caught up by a patrol unit. The Patrol unit begins to chase Max. Max finds a motorcycle and make a run for it. But suddenly, out of nowhere, Vladimir's men appear in the middle of the chase. They shot out the Patrol unit and begin to chase Max. 2 Van begin to shot at Max. Later, Max's bike is taking a heavy damage and begin to explode. Just a few moments before the explosion, Max jumps to the top of a truck.

Suddenly, a helicopter comes in and Vladimir appears & jump to the top of that truck. He wil begin to say : "Max...Max...Max... You don't think that you've got away that easy, do you?"
Max : "It is appear that you can not just let me go, can you?"
Vladimir : "Every where you go, I can find you. Every time you hide, I can catch you. It is not a matter of letting you go. It is just a simple matter of cleaning the mess."
Max : "What are you waiting for? Come and get it!"

The game scene begins. The player can control max and try to get rid of vladimir. In certain time, some vladimir's men come along and try to shoot you. After a while, Vladimir will perform a jump scene from the top of truck into the helicopter. He will jump by using back shoot-dodge movement. The van that chase Max begin to shot the truck's driver. Just before the truck enter the tunnel, Max jumps off to the right side of the road, and land on a white car (Mona will be the one who drives it). The camera will focus to Mona. Mona will then say : "I've got you".

What do you think of the story?

...but by "final scene" do you mean after mona gets capped?

cause then she prolly wouldn't be able to drive the car...even if she isn't dead (like the special ending), she wouldn't be in any condition to drive...

haha

Oh not after that. When Max asked Mona to drive him to the Manor house, they were going on a car, rite? In the middle of the street, they stop for gasoline and medical at the nearest gas station. That is where the action begins. I attempt to contact some persons regarding this project. This project is way cool than Hall of Mirrors. We will show some effects that have not been shown during the original Max Payne. I also contacted my MSN friend who happened to be an ex-worker in Max Payne 2's development team. He told me that Max Payne 2 had a hidden and functionable effects that was not shown because Max Payne 2 had no time left for any trial & error.

The effects are involving lightning techniques. But it was disabled by default because the general computer's spec was not possible at that time. Luckly for us, at this time, all the computers are possible to run this effects.

ok, i was skeptical at first at exactly how this could be "better"...

now i am convinced...

this sounds as if it could be sweet.


(if it comes together in the way that you have just described that is.)

What's with the HoM slagging by the way? Last time I check neither me nor the team hurt you in any way, last time I checked we actually gave you a mod for free.

the only reason i think this could be one of the "coolest" mods is simply because of the addition of the motorcycle sequence...

which makes me think that someone somewhere will have the brains enough to make a playable motorcycle mod...


you're right Rico, i wouldn't call it "innovative" per se...but i WOULD call it an (interesting/thought-provoking) cool idea...

If you just jealous, just tell me so. As far as I know, there is no proof that it is a stolen code or something since the program is being reprogramed again. Anyway, I just admit YUKL for the animations. It doesn't concern you. As far as I look in the bullet time mod, YUKL animations are totally different from yours. So if you want to say that I'm ripping from hom, think again. I use EQgunkatas animations. Not yours. If I slow down the movement, I can definitely see the differences between your hom animations and EQgunkatas animations. If you want to act like a spoil kid who still wants to show off how close you are with the administrator, then there is a question for you. What kind of a game company that receives you as their staff? I mean..... looking from your animation, it is still just like an amateur.

If I'm a big game company, I will definitely turn down your paper resume after I look at your modeling. I believe you are a good handsome man. But you made yourself weird when you were modeling the character with your face. I admit that your concepts of programming are great. Unfortunately, the behavior of the person who made those concepts are not as good as the concepts themselves. No offense. Looking from the way you develop the mod, you are sort of people who is not effective in doing development. This was also the cause why so many game industrials became bankrupt.... because the staffs are too slow in developing things. Do me a favor will you? If you are really a high skilled team member of a game company, proof it. Don't just bull it. Proof to the world in a form of game software that you are really a worthful and a skillful team member of a game company. If not, then all you have said to us in Hall of Mirrors topic are just empty.... not worth to be said to the public.

I'm sure i'm not alone in this. I don't want to come back to look at the forum to see that it has gained 3 pages worth of argument and nothing getting truly "said".
