I tried out an older but extremely interesting game.
Arx Fatalis.
All I can say that I don't understand how I managed to bypass this master piece of art when it originally came in 2003, maybe because then I was still kinda bulk player and just on edge to get enlightend 
Anyhow I strongly encourage everyone to try demo out
Also it gave me an idea for RPG game, which I think that I will start to work on. |

I have this game.
You have to draw runes on your screen to cast spells.
I hardly played it. never bothered getting out of the jail. I got bored in 1 hour. |

Anyway demo is really short and does give only small impression what is about to come in whole game...
Oh and ghostkid I am sorry to say this, but I do not want to hear your arrogant CENSORED opinion about anything unless I ask it...
PS. molodiets game is easier when you DO not try to kill everyone in begining, and look little around... |

LOVE THIS GAME!
I love this type of games. Have you ever played Gothic? Or even Gothic2? These both games are just awesome. Its better not to have internet when you play those games (including Arx Fatalis) because you'll then have more time to play
I've got Arx Fatalis from a Games Magazine CD or DVD. I didn't know about that game before (which I think is horrible). The publishment must have been bad, I have no idea...
After I done it I bought the game Gothic2 (not sure if there is an english language [/b], a must have game when you loved Arx.
It plays a little different, you walk through huge outdoor levels in the mid age, which look very realistic and atmospheric. There are tons of quests...I just love it. (you can compare it with World Of Warcraft I think(never played it)
After I've done Gothic the 5th time (took me perhaps 500 hours LOL no joke. That would be 20 days, and I played it over 2 months, day by day.) I bought Gothic 1 which is not very different but also very very cool.
Only bad things about all 3 games is that after you played them you know the story, and that is what makes the game so interesting.
In Gothic2 you can finish the game in 3 different ways, with different jobs and different character types (freelancer, wizzard and "village police" dont know the name for it..). But you dont choose them from the Menu, you must "earn" these "skills" in the game.
Gothic2 is yet the best RPG (its the best in germany. I dont know if they made a international version too.), but Gothic 3 is coming, with Shader models, Normal mapping, real time lightning...all that good stuff you dont want to miss in a new game.
I'll definitaley buy it when its out.
FuryThor, I'm glad to see another person who likes this game.
Too bad I had a bad computer at the time when I played it. Sometimes I had a real bad fps, but why?!? You always play in caves, portals should do the work. Looks like they've used a bad graphics engine or something. It was really tricky to draw the spells with the hand when the game went slower.
Oh I dont want to end this post with negative words.

Yeah well, I need to find both gothics (1 and 2) and play then through.
Anyway I also missed badly arx fatalis when it first came out (maybe because I was bulk player then... But I have to say that I am quite impressed about arx fatalis as it really makes honor for ultima underworld series. Also for me arx fatalis is quite heavy and I suspect that it has something to do with the engine as it can be made from scratch. (really hard to say as I haven't found any joint points to any engine I know of)
Anyway I got an idea related to Arx Fatalis which I could someone who likes about those games. (and has something to do with my mod)
So I hope to hear about you redfrog
PS. I got hurry to get in time to school :C |
