Quoting nod113 | lol i heard some one in ut2k4 complaining they couldn't see them because their name was too long quie a lame excuse |
You should just buy Red Faction so you can stop trying to fit in and just relate!
I once had the name Michael Finnagain PR drummer and was instanty banned, but that was so long ago that I hardly remember any extra details. |

Nope not askinf for it, I just thought it wqas sad that you offered it to me and then had the nerver( ) to ask me to post a request for it on your forums.
I don't ask, if it is giving to me then fine. If it isn't, then that is fine as well. But asking if I want it then asking me to ask for it is just wrong. It's like asking me if I want a candy and then telling me to go ask another person for it.
Holding rcon is more of a luxury for the server. It allows the server to have eyes when they are there. If I am on a server and I don't have rcon and a cheating fatherless person shows up, I leave. Assuming there isn't another player in the server that doesn't have it already. |

Profuse apologies, ElySioN for hijacking your thread. I cannot seem to stay on topic - perhaps it is my divergent train of thought.

Yes, it was unfiltered goofiness. Sorry, I will try to refrain from such behaviours.

Well, I think we have had a festering miscommunication for quite the while now.
A while back you shared with me the RCON password for your server. So impressed was I - I got a tattoo of the password.
Now I understand your perspective regarding Dinner RCON.
Here is my perspective, way before we talked about RCON that one day long ago, I set up a rudimentary RCON process for Dinner. I have to stick with the process. If I adopt a double standard and give away the password willy-nilly, I will break my own rules. I cannot become a hypocrit. I will not become a hypocrit.
So there it is man. I wasn't trying to dupe you or make you do strange things.
In the future, if you see any of the Dinner RCON Holders just ask them about how they felt about applying for Dinner RCON. |
I have suffered in real life for the past couple years, now its your turn! |

OK. So I reckon you prefer informal over the formal. Which is fine, if your into that sorta thing.
If I am a bad man for considering documenting who has RCON in Dinner then so be it - I am a bad man.

Well, there it is.
I didn't have to set a double standard. You didn't have to apply.
Zinki has interceded for both of us. What a guy.

Have to say this has got to be one of the funniest exchanges I have ever seen on L4Y.
When I ran servers in RF I believe that NCF was one of the first, if not THE first person to get RCON each time.
Rcon was given based on the individual, and how they behaved not only in my servers, but everyone elses. No one had to apply. If they knew the rules, followed them and were trustworthy, they got Rcon.
In the 2 years I ran RF servers I had the same password, and only had one problem in that whole time with someone giving it away. When you consider I had probably 20 Rcon holders at any given time (I always knew who had it, and their IPs), that says a lot for the people who were picked.
I bet NCF and a few others probably remember what the password was, too.
Long story short, Frank is the first person I would give Rcon for any server, and never ask him to "apply".
Not to bust your balls Hapa Hanu, but come on, the guy practically invented Red Faction, and keeps it going here on L4Y. |

LOL! SOK! Bust away, I have dead nuts anyhow.
Well in hindsight, this is pretty ridiculous.
Perhaps I am an example of a strict player?
But, in defense of my motives I have a long history of fighting hypocrisy tooth and nail and I have a real hard time treating anyone differently than anyone else.
What is good for the gander is good for the goose. Hmmmmm.
Well anyhow, back to work. |

I remember HOOAAH What I like to call the good old days of Red Faction. I place were you met up with friendly people that you wanted to frag. The only rules you had were "No Mods". There was never any weapons disabled and all weapons and amps were allowed at any time they were in the server.

Wow, Foe! I don't know if I should say Welcome back..or better yet, it's nice to see you back at L4Y!
How nostalgic; That HOOAAH server you used to run was the jump off! Oh, NoClanFrank couldn't be more right...those were the good old RF Days... Not to condescend much on the RF days of today but, times have changed. |
