Right here is the system:
Someone will say there mod, we discuss, we change. This way there should be no mods talked about at the same time
So here is my idea, cyberpunk? It could just be in the FreeToKill map but the character models could be all futuristic as well as the guns and cars. More explosive barrels (perhaps the ones used in New Dawn. New bosses = one could be on a hover board.
I was thinking the new bullet dodges could be altered as well. All in real time so you have to use more startegy. And the forward dodge could be a running kick!
So can u increase the movement speed of npcs (and players cos i would like him to be a bit faster) and what do u think? |

That cyber punk idea sounds pretty dope and not too difficult to achieve, I want to see a mod thats really realistic, so the weapons are very powerful and have a real kick to them, also when you shootdodge, it's in real time and you can slide along the floor whilst shooting, and more debris and particles like EOS and the ability to move whilst crouched. Like a gunfight mod, where every bullet is valueable and bullets kill. |

I'm not really sure but I'd quite like the idea of a series of scenarios to choose from, so like you choose a level and you might start crouching behind a turned over table with various enemies around you, with different characters. For example, you see a cutscene of your character and he's just robbed a bank and the building gets raided by SWAT and all your crew die, your character dives behind some cover and the level begins. But instead of focusing on one character their are a series of characters so that's just one level, their might be another one where your an abandoned soldier in a trench and you have to take out as many enemies as you can before you die from your wounds. I'm talking about short bursts of exciting gameplay, with different scenarios and characters. Like maybe one where your some junkie in a crackden and a bunch of gangbaggers kill all your friends and you need to either escape or take one of their crappy pistols and defend yourself. |

Hey i like that idea. Although i reckon it would be cooler if u were one of the SWAT members for the leval.
Yeah i definitely reckon that the idea of a real-time bullet dodge is a good change. That ways things could remain more frantic and skliful. |

Yeah, the real time at some tension to the game, maybe two versions of the level could be available like you can play as either side if you want and each team has different gameplay elements, e.g. if your a SWAT you have the advantage of hi tech weapons and tactics but don't have the agility of the robbers so you can't move as fast as them or dodge as quick but they are much weaker. Imagine the scene from face off where the apartment gets raided but you can choose which side to be. Their could even be different game modes, so you might have to assassinate an important person or escort them. |

Graet idea (faceoff - love that film ). You could have a mission where one team has a sort of fort (police station, drughouse etc) and the other team has to break in. So if it were a SWAT team u would have to try and make your way into the building. Whereas, the dealers would have to fight of the SWAT team from taking out there main guy or something! |

in regards to "frantic" gun battles...
have you seen any of Chow Yun-Fat's movies ? (except Bulletproof Monk...that doesnt count)
if not, you should...lots of inspiration can come from his films in regards to modding a game like Max Payne.
if i ever get enough free time i was planning a level mod (or something like that) based on his film with Mira Sorvino(who would replace Mona) called the Replacement Killers...
good flick, i recommend it
anyway, that "scenario" idea sounds like dynamite (good)
|
...do not focus on the finger or you will miss ALL THAT HEAVENLY GLORY... |

HAHA! In the first Max Payne he even blatantly says, "...I made like Chow Yun Fat." I thought your comment about Bulletproof Monk was pretty funny and agreeable. The first chance at an Asian comic book based character and they blew it.
You also bring a good point across in that poor Mona tends to get forgotten in many mods. You play as an awesomely modded Max and then you get the gap where you return to standard gameplay when Mona levels pop up. Mona's levels then just become an obstacle to get through in order to get back to the mod you were enjoying. |

The male and female characters could be a nice contrast, so maybe on one level your a male bank robber and in the alternative version of the same level a female cop. I think the mod could play on gender as a contrast between characters. |

i agree...that was my thinking when i began toying with the idea of a "replacement killers" mod...
the only attention mona gets is the occassional "trinity make-over"...
which usually is half-assed at best |

That was what made Close to the Truth enjoyable for me to play. You got the Kung Fu with Max and the gun katas/some Kung Fu with Mona. Kept it interesting. |
