Blood Will Tell Alpha Build
Build : 1024.2 of 1089

Notes for build 1024.2

Update: After the first build contained some bugs, I updated the build to 1024.2, this build is not bug free guaranteed either. This IS a early alpha.

After 5 months of silence, everybody, on levels4you, may have the chance to test/play a Alpha build of Blood Will Tell. This Alpha release is meant for preview only and does not represent the final product. And I'm interested in Feedback.

The 1024 Build Contains:

LEVELS:

*Un-rendered test version of the intro level (INTO THE DARKNESS - PART ONE - CHAPTER ONE)
*Previous, Unrendered incomplete version of the ADW Subway level (THE SUBWAY - PART ONE - CHAPTER TWO)

These levels are NOT completed in any way, therefor they don't have a ending point. To start a level, simply select one of the listed levels below in the TIME TRAIL MODE or LEVEL SELECT MODE. Manually leave or change a level.

SKINS:

Four zombie skins from Build 1089 (What I call "Next gen Skins")
A few more skins from build 1000, the start version of BWT

WEAPONS:

Magnum .357, Spas-12 and M16. Ray Walker's arsenal was never intended to be big. Various weapons are using new skins. This build does not contain the promised weapon system.

SOUNDS AND MUSIC:

This build does NOT contain any music from the score preformed by Justin R. Durban but it does contains a new main menu track. This mod uses new sounds. Every NPC uses zombie sounds, and their own scripted lines.

EFFECTS:

I updated this build with the great effects by Dalte from the EOS mod, to make the alpha more enjoyable and more similair to the finished experiance.

I hope you all enjoy playing this build and that you can also see where we worked on for almost a year. I Hear you say that this build contains nothing special, but that's where a alpha preview is for. It's meant to give you a very basic view of the mod.


Is Blood Will Tell ever coming out?
For Max Payne 2 probably not, there's simply not that much man power in the community anymore to raise a good, strong organized team needed for this project. Maby we will gather the loose ends and build a "goodbye" beta in the near future, for now you have to stick with this.

I certainly have the spirit to continue, but does the community have?

*Users are allowed to post reviews, and use files of this mod EXCLUDING zombie sounds or skins, or the new camera mode

Exception in engineInit:R_ScriptLoader: There can't be data
without tag inside block [[loadedondemand]/[skeleton]/[male.txt]]!

Oh lol, I expected that but tought it would be solved, thats the result of not testing a mod. Sorry for the trouble, but have a bit patience, its very late now, so i will uplaod a new version tomorrow.

u were just missing a slash. i recompiled it.

edit:

lots of new problems. ur menu.txt needs some work under time trial, as you should take out all the regular mp2 levels, and u shud also rename the prologue and chapter one to their new BWT level names. when playing ur first level i encountered no zombies (i ran around exploring for like 5 minutes and saw no one and i ran through what seemed to be a lot of the level). when starting up the second level it crashed with an error that had something to do with "blood_bullet2" being missing or something like that.

That are no errors
Thats the alpha! There are no zombies in those levels yet..
I updated the build with the things you requested.

The error you encountered, is because the second level requests some extra files like sounds and animations, but i forgot those after 5 months. Build 1024.2 should work, But I haven't tested it neither.

Blood_Bullet2 is a projectile, arounf the player that causes the zombies to walk to the player. Like a bait.

I get this error:

alright my thoughts on your alpha release are as follows:

i flipped through the zombie skins once or twice in dev, and thought that were some really nice ones, but the mona one looks horrible.

the subway level looks really nice (even though its pretty small right now). its hard to say since the levels arent rendered but they both appear to look quite good. your subway level needs some boundaries tho. u can go really far in both directions of the track when theres nothing there, and im assuming ur continuing the level in neither direction. your swat guy models are lookin alright, but cud use a little work (but they look fine). the weapons (not many) all look quite good. i also like the new beretta skin.

what was not in this mod, that i'd like to see (either in a video or in another alpha) is zombie combat. i'd like to see the attack animations and how combat plays out. i'd also like to see how fast u plan on making the zombies vs. player speed. the sounds seem good too (or at least the ones i heard, best place to hear them is by going into DMW)

Looking good cypress, and im hoping u manage to get out a solid beta b4 moving to hl2 (or are u moving now?)
