I could very well be that I'm going to visit L4Y i little less in the coming days.

I'm now typing from an other computer, because I just turned on my own, I heard a loud Bang! and smoke came out of the back

Gonna bring it to a computer repair shop, I hope they can fix it probabbly has something to do with the power supply I guess.

I hope to have it fixed soon again, but until that time I might be visiting L4Y a bit less.

Bangs and smoke tend to be bad... yes...
Hopefully just the PSU (they're fairly cheap) and hopefully it didn't do any damage to the machine itself... I've known a self destructing PSU to damage the motherboard.

Yea, Exploding power supplies can be a pain..
Just a note: When in school dont take apart and power supply then drop it over the 50ft staircase
Not that i would know anything about that... no... of course not..

Thats exactually what I was hope-ing for, and also thats exactually the other thing I'm fearing, that the PSU hasn't only died alone, but that has taking something (like the motherboard or anything else) with it.

I had a similar problem with my DELL, just turned it on the BANG! So i went down to see the EPIPS (Evil People In Purple Shirts) and got myself and new one, only to find that the fan/switch was on the wrong side

So i got out my saw and cut and hole in the back of my PC

But it's all good now! Hopefully it won't be as annoying for you!

You can get PSU's for £10... cheap and chearful but dont expect them to last longer than a year... not saying it'll blow up after 6 months but the cheaper ones tend to stop working a lot sooner than the better PSU's.

That said... the difference in price between decent PSU's and the cheap ones tends to mean you can get 4 or 5 of the cheaper ones for the same price as one good one.

Good luck with the repair people...
