Well i never really liked his show or movies, i just didnt like the way he overreacted so much.
But he did have a big following and i suppose to some people he was entertaining so it is sad to hear that he is gone, at least he did enjoy his job ... which is more then alot of people. |

RIP Steve Irwin
It's a ridiculous death indeed...this guy is able to hunt crocs without getting killed but then one day a sting-ray kills him just like that.
Anyways he was a pretty cool and funny dude. I use to watch his show on The Animal Planet |

Animals are dangerous. He shouldnt have been near a sting ray in the fist place... Why would a sting ray attack the Steve Irwin? Oh thats right he probably was touching it or attempting to wrestle it or something that was irritating it...
Its sad he left a family behind. espically the child. When you have a family you shouldnt be participating in wreckless and dangerous activities like that anaways. For the sake of the family as a whole at least. |

Thats a bit of a weird attitude to take. I have been swimming with Stingrays. they are harmless unless you stand on them and provoke them.
He was a cool guy, his programs werent bad and i watched them for a while, but either way wether you like him or dislike him... you should feel sad for his family. |

The thing you forget is yes, he put himself at risk, but thats because he was hopelessly dedicated to raising the profile of the animal world in the hope that the rest of the world might actually give a CENSORED one day and stop being so distructive.
He did an awesome amount of conservation work, Australia Zoo is the legacy he's left for the world.
However, if I was a sting ray and some dude tried sticking his thumb up my CENSORED in order to piss me off for tv, i'd sting the git too! Ironically it seems that he is only the second person known to have died from a sting ray in aus waters, it was a lucky shot from the rays point of view.
I hope (and am sure) that his kids will grow up to be very proud of what he accomplished, and too right, he was a legend, one of a kind and no mistake!
I hope you will join me in raising a glass to the late, great and irreplaceable, Steve Irwin |

I think I joined a large portion of people in thinking this was a hoax when it was on the radio this morning... obviously it isn't however
His legacy as a conservationist should be what he's remembered for - the publicity he brought to the animal world as Cyrus5 says was immense.

I loved Steve Irwin, he was pretty much a real life "Crocodile Dundee"... that guy had balls and has done a hell of a lot in terms of wildlife research and conservation, not to mention he was an inspiration to many around the world.
God Bless Steve!
