If Doom 3 was released in 1996-98 it will probably look like this.As you can see the textures are all dulled,s down but its running on a SLI Voodoo 2..............
What next?Oblivion on a 32 mb gc? |

It looks terrible.. of course new games would run on older systems if you turn off EVERY special effect and lighting etc. |

Ya, but then what would be the point of playing it? Seriously, The latest FPS games before Doom3 would look better on their high settings than that lol.
Hey, if I wanted to play with those graphics, I would just play Red Faction... |

Look, I found the zombies Diesel used for Red Doom
But Pred... RAM doesn't mean all that much on a vid card..
You can have a 128MB that does a lot better than a 256MB or 512MB. It all depends on the card itself, NOT how much RAM it advertises. |

Those graphics of Doom 3 on the Voodoo pretty much takes the scare factor away. I would actually play this! It just depends if the animation is the same as the regular one. |

From the looks of it, all he did was nerf the textures and lighting to nothing.
I don't think the point of it was to make it playable, I think it was done to see how slow of hardware you can get the game to run on. |

It still doesnt answer the question of why would you want to play it in the first place!
I found it to be entertaining for a while, good fun watching girls playing it, they tend to screach alot! (the wussy kind I know, not being totaly sexist here..) but all in all its a fancy interactive tech demo.
But quite funny that someone was bothered enough to try running it on Voodoos. |
