I need Help with Request Forms. Like forms that you fill something ut like, Name, Email and stuff liek that. then hit submit button and it emails the information to you. Please if anyone knows how to do this PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!!
But Do not respond on this Post, THis is my friends account and he let me use it just for a sec because i couldnt remember mine.

Ok, Its a form. That has a list of things to fill out.
Name
Email
Aim
MSN
Yahoo
Name what you want here!
and then has a submit button right here.
sso that the person can put their anme and stuff and the Name what you want here! box would be an explanation of what they want. and when they hit submit it would send it to my email. So that I can fullfil their request. |

I believe you would need a CGI script to perform a "send" command without opening a client such as Outlook Express or Thunderbird. I dunno the script needed for send offhand... But I'll look for it |

Well, Because I play red faction alot. I don't play any other games except Tribes. But yea I was kinda hoping that posting in the Red Faction Forums that maybe someone I knew would see it and help me out. And/or someone else they may know the code  |

Doesn't matter, it's in the main lounge  Red Faction just happenned to be the section he posted it from, you can view it in any section since it's in lounge |

I'm pretty sure just straight HTML can mail a form. I know that you don't need PHP. I have no idea what the code is, however.  |

HTML is just markup code, it cannot do anything other than format data... and these days CSS does all that anyway...
All HTML can do with forms is, as Sobe says, tell the users email client to open up and get the user to click the send button. Not very nice for the user.
Something on the server to do the mailing automatically is nice and simple. PHP can do it very easily. I seem to recall an example on page 1... for the $message part...

Will work quite nicely for taking all data from a form and outputting it in a nice human readable form. Say you have a form with 3 fields on called, name, email and age you'll end up with something like the following for the body of your email.

Beauty of this is that you can add/remove fields to your form and the mailing part doesn't need changing at all. |
