Does anyone know if Battlefiled 2142 comes bundled with a level editor? The game looks intriguing (I'm downloading the demo right now) but would probably purchase it if the gameplay is good and it allows players to make their own level maps.

Yes it is coming with an editor, you know you could have posted this in the BF2142 section.

Thanks for answering my question. As to the BF2142 section, I looked but couldn't find one. There is a game section but there isn't a forum listed for it in the forum directory.

Omission fixed, there is now a BF2142 section in the forums. I'm trying not to get too excited about this game until after I try the demo and figure out if my computer can handle it.

As BF2 it will come with a level editor, but to make a level intresting you'll need a seperate moddeling program like Maya, to make buildings and stufff like that, the editor it self is more for creating terrain, and placing stuff allready created on.

The demo is friggin awesome! You'd love it. I've noticed that the game runs alot smoother than BF2, and they've must have completely optimised it because now I can play it at high detail settings with no trouble at all, unlike BF2 where I could only play it at medium.

Thanks.....that's bad news. I don't have any modeling programs other than those that have come bundled with games (like RED).

I don't mind the fact there aren't many maps. In BF2 Strike at Karkard was one of the only maps played, so there will always be favourites. And yeah I can add to that, loving the game so far, the unlocks are sweet and really give the game some depth.

Although unfortunately the stats still seem to be having a few bugs.

Oh, and Welcome to the forums, evilhimmy179!

No level editor bundled with the game . Hopefully they will release one. I read on another gaming site that the aftermarket maps won't be able to integrate with the BF2142 ranking system.....so they can't be played on ranked servers and won't be able to accumulate or utilize unlocks. That blows if true....seems like a simple enough issue to have anticipated and integrated into their system.

Do u know where i c an locate that map editor? I cant seem to find one!

They haven't released one....and probably won't. Their business model has these new map upgrades like Northern Strike (and there's another one in beta) so I don't think they want user created maps competing. Some people are using the BF2 map editor to create single player maps but they can't create multiplayer maps for 2142 with it.
