Ok. All of you are boring so i'll do something to stir the pot a bit and hopefully get some people with a sense of humor and or storytelling ability to post here.
Ill start with my story of my very first few games of Swat4 online.
Here i go.
So after walking out from Circuit City with Swat4 Gold I was all hyped up to play this game from the trailers! You play as a team leader of a S.W.A.T team of 5 people. Your objective is to bring order to chaos in hostage situiations lethally or non lethally stopping suspects. Although the game doesnt really have a "story" it has various missions where you and your mates are called in to brng order to hostage situiations. etc.
Now. First i would like to point out this is a really good game (if you like FPS i recommend this one). One important aspect is that A.I actually gives up! How many games do you know where AI doesnt fight mercilessly to the death every time? Excited with this game i spent a few days completing the game until i finally beat it and got the hang of it. One day I decided to go online since i beat the SP game.
Online this game is a completley different story. So i decided to look for some cool MP games. looked and i noticed there is alot of "barricated suspects" servers. Which in short is a TDM where you keep respawning after like 30 secs or so when "backup" arrives. Your objective is to get the most kills or arrests. Kills get 1 point whilst arrests get 5 points. So i join a server packed with people. i see some guys on my team running with pepper ball guns and heavy armor(they make enemies run around and gag making them helpless) so were running around this tiny house level, and im doing good with my mp5. Teams are hard to tell unless you are behind them looking at their color stripe. so FF is a big problem. so im like "Oh yeah swat4 online! shibbyyy!" So im on a killing spree with 7 points and im feeling good. so then i block myself in a room and decide to camp. One of my team mates decided to follow me into the room... after wondering what the hell he was doing in front of me blocking my view of the door it started pissing me off... Suddenly he attacked me with the pepper spray gun, tazed me, and then arrested me. and were on the same team... after a few minuites pass i hear him doing it to other teams mates. then he startd spamming racial comments into the chatbox at which point i left... lol
Next up i wanted to try another mode. I found a server playing VIP mode. Now when i joined my first assumption was to stop the VIP from reaching the escape zone at all costs (from CS).
so me and my team mates were in this lobby area and were below this awning where the opposing team is throwing grenades down... Needless to say were getting our asses kicked. luckily i was behind this wall piece where its nearly impossible to get a grenade to. yet its easy to see the staircase so i can nail anyone coming down... After a few minuites of getting owned i finally saw a character in a white shirt on the stairs trying to run down. "Hey, that must be the vip!" Feeling proud i was the only one left in the room (at the time) i was going to win the match. so then i quickly put an end to the VIP's life and the rund ended. feeling like a hero i decided to look at my score...
My score was -55...
After everyone complained and flamed at me i was told i was sopposto arrest the VIP. Knowing thats nearly impossible anaways because the VIP ALWAYS has someone with him.
I figured w/e and exchanged one of my flashbangs for pepper spray incase if i run into the vip. Next round, same scenario. stair room, Were getting owned. im in the same spot camping because trying to move up the stairs would mean death. So here i am camping, suddenly i see a guy creeping down. I try to fix my croshair onto him for a headshot. When i decided to make my move and shoot (i usually shoot 9-12 bullets) the VIP comes running down the stairs in the middle of my attack, runs into my croshair and drops dead. Now the guy i was aiming origonally for survived because of his helmet (by some miracle). Dissapointed i now sit with -110 points and alot of angry players.
Round 3: All of my teammates go the normal routine to the stair room. tired of camping i decided to make a smart move and go from behind (nobody ever goes that way anaways). Feeling clever i eventually got to the second floor and i found the VIP peeking around a corner. carefully i pulled out my pepper spray and slowly approached. Of coruse something has to go wrong and a enemy player walks behind the vip. I quickly pull out my mp5 again and this time taking care not to have an accident i carefully aim for a headshot. Just as I pull the trigger, disaster strikes and the guy i was aiming for moved an inch to the left and the VIP once again moves onto my croshair in the middle of my 3 round burst.
Now with a total of -165 points everyone is pissed off and saying i was doing it on purpose. lol finally i get fed up and kill off my team mates then hide in a dark corner and asassinate the VIP deliberatley then leave the server with a grand total of -228 points. What a disaster! LOL |

Mmm I had some interesting situations like that in many games...
SOCOM 2 U.S. Navy SEALs...
This is my first time playing the game online and I knew immediately it wouldn't be the same as single player. The single player involves you as the leader of a squad of 4 men in 2 fire teams (in case you didn't catch that, you and one guy on one fireteam, your other 2 teammates on the other). Your missions vary between levels (one mission could be to kill or capture an enemy cell leader and another could be to bug the enemies phones while maintaining stealth) but always involve taking down a terrorist group.
Online it's a whole different story...the game is basically a 3rd person shooter version of CounterStrike with some variations. As with CounterStrike, you have 2 teams (terrorists and counter-terrorists aka SEALs) and there are a variety of different gameplay modes which are similar. That's where the similarities end though. The "Escort" game mode involves one team rescuing hostages and taking them to an escape zone and the other trying to prevent the hostages from escaping (much like any "cs" map on CounterStrike), however the game never specified that the terrorists also on certain maps may have to rescue the hostages.
I join a server a play as a terrorist, picking the weapons which I think may work (in this case a version of the Steyr AUG, some HE grenades, and a DE .50 aka desert eagle). So I start the map wondering where the hostages we have to protect are, I run around the map and find them and then sit in the building they're in and wait. While I'm sitting there nobody else is coming in, apparently my 16 man team was too busy getting slaughtered by the SEAL team of the same size. Eventually I was the only one left up against maybe 5 SEALs. I sit near the hostages waiting...waiting...a SEAL runs in! I instantly gun him down before he has a chance to radio to anyone nearby where I am. So I sit for a while longer and then time runs out and the announcer says the SEAL team had won. My teammates gave me quite a bit of abuse about not doing the objective and it was then I realized that the terrorists were rescuing their hostages in that map...whoops. |
