Ever wonder how to run a mod. Well based on a lot of submitted reviews, there is a lot of your. In case you are wondering, those reviews never got posted. But I did send them a email and or PM to let them know how. This brings me to the point of me starting this thread and the reason why it has been made a sticky.
Mod Installation instructions by NoClanFrank:
1. Create a new folder called mod name here in your C:gamesRedFactionmods directory
2. Extract the files to your C:gamesRedFactionmodsmod name here directory.
3. Find your RF.exe in your C:gamesRedFaction directory
4. Right click it and send a shortcut to your desktop
5. Go to your desktop and find the shortcut you just created and rename it to mod name here
6. Right click on it again and this time choose properties from the drop down menu
7. Under target type in the following exactly: C:gamesRedFactionRF.exe -mod mod name here
(Copy and paste it if you like, it will save you the type of typing it. Notice that there is a space between RF.exe -mod & the mod name, that is an important step.)
8. Click OK
9. Double click the shortcut that you just modified and the game should begin.
* You won't be able to join a regular server if you start the game this way! If you want to join one, start the game as you would normally do it, without the mod.

You know as well as I do, stickying a topic wont prevent noobs from asking this age old question.
Unless Franks post pops up every time someone downloads a mod...
sadly, this is true

Yes but now I can atleast direct them to this page instead of answering the question every time they submit it on the review page. Then again I can always add this to the description of said mod files.
Franck?
It's Frank , any way. Unless somebody decides to run the mod, it won't show up on the list. That shouldn't stop you from playing it on Single Player Mod. It's still fun. Then again you can always start a Red Doom mod server yourself in hopes that somebody will join you. I ran a server for a while, I like it but I felt bad because Hapa_Hanu couldn't join in the fun, the hoser plays on a Macintosh. You know the makers of the OK Mp3 players that everybody seems to call Ipods.
