Version 2 of the queuing system... this time you are given a unique user ID that keeps track of you. Your IP address doesn't matter...
Same system as before... you click to download, window pops up and tells you that you have entered the queue.
When the download is ready a little sound plays to warn you. Make sure you click that link within 3 minutes otherwise your download spot will be given to the next person in the queue to prevent people from purposely holding everyone up.
If your browser doesn't automatically refresh, it isn't my problem. This works perfectly in Internet Explorer 6, Opera 7, Avant, E2 and Mozilla Firefox. If you have one of these browsers and your window isn't refreshing every 60 seconds (note that your queue position may not change each time you refresh) then its a setting on YOUR PC that is causing the problem... NOT the queue. |

Everybody should just stop complaining about the new system already. Go run your own website if you don't like it. Get out of Garner's hair, he's trying to make it better for everybody and he doesn't need to hear your bloody whining every 2 minutes.

Johnny, this is not going to be a discussion, I will merely explain to you why your post was edited, if you have further problems with it, IMS me.
Just because there is a language filter that doesn't pick up certain use of language doesn't mean it's ok to use that kind of language. You should consider that the users who visit this site are of all ages. |

Gah I hate this wating line crap, my downloads always mess up and i can never GET the file i been waiting in line for. 
TAKE IT OFF!
CENSORED DMAN ERROR 500!
L4y was fine without it, now there is a quere all the sudden?  I protest against this, I have experiences some slowdowns in the forums but its noting to add a file quere over.  (if thats what the theory behind the quere is for) |

I agree with D2K and IAC, but I understand the consiquences of going back. Its sad, but true that L4Y has too many downloads going on at once, and the site goes slower than the snail on garners avater!  |

i hate to complain but i have not been able to download any new maps from this site since the new "system" was started. amazing how only 10 ppl can download at a time. something has got to be up with this. L4Y is one of the last really good sites left for red faction maps!!
i had an idea. what if everyone were to copy their multiplayer .vpp maps to their shared folder of kazaa, kazaa-lite or whatever p2p service they use? then everyone could download the levels from each other. we could still use L4Y for the newest levels, reviews and forums. this would actually be a legitimate use for the p2p services!! |

Hmm yeah a bigger distribution of maps would be good but I'm not going to use kazaa and have the FED's giving me a closer inspection than my proctologist lol.
What happened with that anyway? Are they still chasing kazaa?

So you say there was so many who couldn't download before the new system. Well now that you got this new system why not take a poll of how many of us members can't/or have this 40 minute wait to download a simple file? I betcha it is far worse now.
I all I want is the hermit's reticle download and I find it unnecessary to wait over 40 minutes to get to download it. Ya know we all have a set amount of web space I'm saying we should make some levels4you sidekicks to make downloading faster, easier, or somehting like that. |
