Version 2 of the queuing system... this time you are given a unique user ID that keeps track of you. Your IP address doesn't matter...
Same system as before... you click to download, window pops up and tells you that you have entered the queue.
When the download is ready a little sound plays to warn you. Make sure you click that link within 3 minutes otherwise your download spot will be given to the next person in the queue to prevent people from purposely holding everyone up.
If your browser doesn't automatically refresh, it isn't my problem. This works perfectly in Internet Explorer 6, Opera 7, Avant, E2 and Mozilla Firefox. If you have one of these browsers and your window isn't refreshing every 60 seconds (note that your queue position may not change each time you refresh) then its a setting on YOUR PC that is causing the problem... NOT the queue. |

just move all your illegal mp3's and videos of paris hilton to another location that the riaa(recording industry association of america) cannot scan. they can only scan the folder you designate as your "shared folder". yes they are still pursuing those that have lots and lots to distribute to the masses. but of course the level files the riaa could care less about!! i already put a couple of levels in my shared folder to see if anyone wants to test it out. so ppl should just search for .vpp or name of map i guess. |

I can't see the use of a poll. This is Garner's site, he can do whatever he likes to it. Even close it down. No one pays him for doing the work, and I think it is unfair to him with all this complaining going on.

That only tells what was happening the last three minutes.
I am downloading now, but it doesn't show me doing it. I don't think the online page shows people in the DL queue. |

Sorrow!! no warez talk?? you must be kidding? something has got to be done. we love our custom red faction maps. we love L4Y. that is the only thing keeping me playing red faction. i think everyone using p2p networks to share their maps would be a great idea. i have 500k of upload bandwith not hardly being used. many other ppl out there with lots of bandwidth not being utilized either. you got a better idea to this problem?? |

You say you changed it because the feedback forum was full of people who couldn't download before? Right?? Well now you have a forum full of people who can't or wait forever to download.
You also say the site is free...
Well it was free before the new system.
So whatever it's your site, you do as you wish. But do you do the site for you or for all who love the games you cover on this site?

Any posts that promote software piracy or even approach the subject will be deleted on sight. Software piracy is a serious issue and talking about it on this site especially will not be tolerated.

Maybe read them prior to posting?
And no, I am not kidding.
Other sites like Gamespy has a queue system too. I have often been number 400 something in line to get my DL. The only difference is that they have a faster server. |

software piracy is the illegal copying or sharing of copywrited works with out payment to author. are these levels copywrited?? are they sold to anyone?? if i am downloading them from L4Y how is that any different from me downloading them from someone thru a P2P site?? how is it illegal to share custom .vpp files? |

Sorrow, i was only trying to give killiad a little advice on what he was worried about.
So are discussions about legal uses for these networks allowed?? And if not why. Guys i am simply trying to come up with a solution to this problem of ppl not being able to get their levels. |
