Yes, the CDC's are back... and better than ever 
For those of you who have forgotten what they are since we moved servers in May 2003 or are new to L4Y since that time, a little explanation of what the CDC's are is in order
The CDC is a place where level/map designers can show off their ongoing/complete projects, right here on Levels4you.com.
This means if you have a project that you are working on (eg a modification for a game or a map pack) either on your own or as part of a team, you can gain valuable exposure and webspace needed to promote your project... right here on the site!
You get...
WebSpace for your gaming project(s), for pictures of upcoming releases, releases or other files related to the project!
Your own poll and news posting system.
New to this version of the CDC are the following features...
Bug Manager - You can gain feedback from users via a form, handy for beta releases and testing!
Team Management - Allow team members access to post news and/or files to increase your workspace activity.
What do you need in order to use the CDC? Just your L4Y username and password 
Visit the CDC for more information. All games we support here will have their own CDC!

Garner, do us Staff Members have the power to edit these projects?
What would happen if someone posted a picture of boobie?  Or, wrote in a news post, "Beast is a moron"?    |

ok what??? there is no where to setup this CDC thing, where am i supose to go to set it up? i dont see any "create your own cdc" thing, and where is the ftp page?
this isnt even explain'd, you need to explain how to do it, and where to go and all of that. it just says to create one, and the stuff u can do with it, well, how do i get there? someone please, help me im an idiot on this stuff. |

I think Garner needs to make the PPP button as wide as the page so people will see it
RoMeK: It's at the top right of the CDC page for each section. Has PPP on it

hmm for the polls in the CDC every time u go to that page u can re vote and itll add it to the other votes so someone could keep going to the page and voting to make the one they want to win win u should make it so they can only vote once |

That ability is in the admin panel... but currently only for Administrators, I can give it out to anyone but I wasn't planning on just yet

I've added a text link in and in addition a direct link to create a new workspace from the cdc news page.

I cant remember the reason for this... it was designed that way for some reason... probably to make things easier
I'll look at integrating the same system the forums use for blocking repeat votes. This will mean however that guests cant vote on the CDC polls... |
