Hey all after starting my New Hud (Found on my New CDC) i went around looking at all the dark sniper rifle guns and i came across this picture on a redfaction fan website



And that made me start to think.....Why dosnt my Red part on the scope glow?? now i want it to glow like that how do i do that???

Should just be a .tga file needing to be editted.

you can probabbly open the tga file for the sniper with some thing like photoshop, select the normal red dot in the scope with you magic wand, copy it to a new layer, give it a red outer glow, flatten your image. and save it as a with the same name as the original tga again. put the tga into a vvp file, and put that vvp file into your single folder.

Or something like that, I believe you have the skinning skills for it so good look

I wonder If you could remodel the sniper rifle, possibly add some type of V Particle on the scope for real effect.

No, they aren't the same.
The first one was a screenshot of RF on Playstation or a beta of Red Faction (which was a lot different).
A particle emitter must have been used to make it glowing like that.
It's not possible to remodel the Sniper Rifle and get this result from alpha textures on the model because they aren't additive and can't be set to.
What he did is, he painted some fake red glowing light on the texture.

On my Q4Railgun you can sometimes see the front of the gun is glowing red. This is a partcile emitter which is also used for the default Railgun. (It is blue by default, I have changed the texture to red. There also are these moving particles on the default railgun)
All this is hardcoded in Red Faction so you don't have access to stuff like that. You cannot add or remove the cart glow of the railgun without modifying the model (removing the dummies)
