As far as I know from myself, and others, this is a Nvidia 8 series video card problem. I don't think there is any way to fix it. Though I could be very wrong. |

It's the drivers for the 8xxx cards that handles something different then older cards drivers so all u can do for now is to either wait for new drivers and hope that it will get fixed or u can get your self a old computer just for RF itself 
How high did u set the resolution to in RF? |

1280x1024, and then i moved it down to 800x600 but to no avail. |

Rujman from what I read in "these" forums. You get that error in Red Faction when you use the nVidia 8 series cards. Like stated above.
*Crosses his fingers and hopes that nVidia fixes that problem with driver update*

I'll aways stick to ATI, and I also always will stick to AMD (Athlon power!!). (ATI is part of AMD..) Best of the best, and I hope no graphics errors. |

Same here!  AMD + ATi = God mode.
As for these 8800 GeForce problems I agree with MacFlying, that we should have a dedicated thread rather than the six or seven current threads. No sense in repeating ourselves over and over for people who just don't bother to look up their problem first...  |

I've tried DX9,DX8, without any results. And I've tried DX7, and DX1-6 (with DxWnd) both with and without the "reduce cp load" option, with no help. I've also tried messing around with all the Nvidia settings and came up with no results.
I downloaded the July 10, Vista 32-bit driver beta from the Nvidia website, and installed it. I then opened up RF, and surprisingly ( ), there was no difference at all!

RF strongly needs DX8 or better. But i dont meant using DXWnd but furthermore FoolDx8 or 3dAnalyses which pretend your system that u just running DX8 instead of 10 or whatever. I can post a link here if ur interested |

From what ive noticed, this problem with the 8800 is Red faction only  . I have an 8800GTS 640MB and havnt had ANY problems in any other games (Every Unreal, Americas Army, BF2, RCT3, misc games) |
