There was a young man from a University in Florida. His name is Andrew Meyer who was recently Tasered, arrested and taken to County Prison for asking a strange question at a vote debate with John Kerry in his University.
Yeah, You work the maths out on this one? I have made a poll because I recon this poll will be interesting and will probley find many votes.
Before you vote on the poll though, I ask of you all to watch 3 videos of this unacceptable behaviour and vote in what you think. You can also post a comment too about how you feel about the matter.
May I Advise, The part of the video's where the young man gets tasered is very shocking and can cause you to have an effect to ask your self a question "Why? Is he being Tasered?".

i blame pretty much everything on the police ...
however the guy was getting a little too fired up ... if he would of just stated his arguement calmly John Kerry would have probably answered without the police rushing in and no one would see this video.
Edit: This is a better video
you can see how he might have brought it on himself ... |

He did ask his question calmly . If you did not notice, in one of the videos, during the resist, John Kerry was actually going to ask the officer's to stop arresting him because even he knew he did nothing wrong. But Kerry stood boldly and said nothing. When he was being tasered, Kerry then started to answer his question.
You are right that Andrew did get fired up a little about being handled by the police. But the main factor that bothers everyone is that it took 9 Police Units and a Taser to put some hand cuffs on him.
This disgust me that a harmless student at a University had to be tased just to be hand cuffed. The police should be ashamed of them selfs. Police Victality. That Student pays his fee's to be at that University, He has every rights to use its facilities and to enducate his mind with answers from questions he may ask. |

Good thing they had tazer thou. Otherwise they would have had to shoot him dead to neutralize him.
That is the great debate about tazers. When are they supposed to use them. The cops often seem overzealous using them but partisans of tazers (mostly those who sell them) say it's better than shooting with a firearm or even hiting with a baton (batons will leave you bruised and it's going to take longer to neutralize you)
Humm wait! What was the question? Was it worth using force to neutralize him or was it necessary to tase him to use force? |

I'm going to get flamed anyway so... what the hell.
It's bad enough that you've got a president who cheated 2 elections and is doing no good for your country but now you have a corrupt legal system (not that it wasn't corrupt before)...
Flame me if you must but keep in mind it is my opinion which won't change no matter how much you flame me |

I feel it was fair, not that he was getting arrested, but the tazer part.
It's called resisting arrest, they warned him several times. I feel the police handled the situation well. That and the guy was being a complete CENSORED his question had only one purpose and that was too cause trouble. He wasn't asking it for an answer.
I would like to reiterate that I do not think the arresting was necessary. |

Why did the Police officers at the front of complex tell him he was ensighting a Riot? Thats what I would love to know exactly. He did not make a riot, he asked a question. This is where Freedom of speech kicks in. He wasnt given Freedom to speak. He was mishandled after his question.
You got to sit and think... Riot - a noisy, violent public disorder caused by a group or crowd of persons, as by a crowd protesting against another group, a government policy, etc., in the streets.
He was not Noisy, He did not cause a public disorder, He did not protest against anything. He asked a question and wanted an answer from John Kerry.
The whole class, hall or whatever, was full of students who looked like they were not trouble makers. They looked like students who have done their homework and prepared them selfs to ask questions to find answers.
I did not see a threat of a riot anywhere.
The real threat is the police with what they had to protect others. I saw a gun pointed at this student. It looked like a Taser gun. They had an ordinary Taser used to detain him. I also saw a weapon in one of the officers belt. Not sure if it was a taser, but it looked like Live Amunation. |

well, he definitely resisted arrest ... and thats really all that matters that will get you in deep trouble ...
basically, if he would have cooperated with the police all they would have done is probably escort him out of the building ... but he started to fight, and raise his voice ... and that will get you arrested .
as for ensighting a riot ... i do believe he said several things to try to get people stirred up and stuff like that
then again ... this country has fell a long ways from what the origional founding fathers had intended ...
Did you know that you have to get a permit to legally protest something? ... including the goverment itself
But also keep in mind that this kid was majoring in journalism ... and pretty much all journalists have a in-your-face, accusing attitude
LOL, i love john kerry during all of this ... hes like "Wth?" ... if you can hear him on the mike hes saying ... "I think if everyone would just calm down this situation will get much better" which is pretty true ... the kid just needed to calm down ... its like he took adrenaline before he went in there |

Good point Assaultman. I hate Journalists. Espically USA ones. They are always in your face, never leave you alone. Always picking on the Celeb's and stuff. Just because they are rich and famous, why can't they lead a quiet normal life without the hassle and without everyone known about it.
Basically, this is the message you get from that, "Be Rich and you shall be exposed, Be Wealthy like everyone else, and your life runs its course with no one known".
As for this student, People are asking for where he is. I wounder what his parents are doing? And I hope to god he sue's the police force for this weird arrest, or at least take it to court. |

He acted like he knew the scene was videotaped.
He didn't react the right way if he wanted to be left alone but he reacted the right way if he wanted to prove the cops are prompt to use violence even when it's not necessary.
The cops'behavior obviously is over the top. They have been trapped. If he had stayed still and quiet during the arest he would have goten away with it but the film wouldn't be on youtube.
Maybe it's the only way to prove that the cops are unnecesarily violent? |
