While internet news sources today have reported that Microsoft is readying to launch its next generation Xbox hardware in America and Europe in the fourth quarter of this year, Eurogamer has learnt that the specific timing for the machine's roll-out is late October or early November, and merely weeks after the US launch. The exact date is yet to be solidified.
Speaking under conditions of strict anonymity, senior American and British development, publishing and retail sources have confirmed the launch window in the past weeks.

Wow! XBox 1 was already so much better at displaying graphics than my PC (Oddworld Stranger's Wrath made me want to cry) that the new XBox2 will probably be better than my next computer!
Too bad it will be years before any good games will be released for it (again *G*) of course another rerelease of Resident Evil with better graphics, better yet Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball and I can die a happy man! *LOL* |

I don't speak for myself when I say that Xbox 2 is being released too soon. I'll wait a few days and if the games are good, I'll get it. Of course, I don't have that choice considering how I don't pay the bills. I would be really sad if I couldn't get Xbox 2 because I'm a huge fan of the Xbox. |

PS3 for me as well. No one has any news on games for wither of these 2 consoles do they? Do you reckon Sony/Microsoft will completley abandon their previous consoles (ps2/xbox) well i think that Ps3 is goinhg to win the ware between the two. As long as nintendo doesnt bring out the gamesphere! |

there was news on an EA game also Submitted by THE_KING_SoW however after trapsing through 4 different Sources he listed could find no truth behind the EA rumour. He has 1 Screenshot picture he had hosted on his CDC. head over to his CDC to try and find it maybe? It looks VERY life like its a American Football game I believe, if you cant find it I saved and can host the image myself. 
I know 1 game confirmed for Ps3 and Xbox2...

This round of console releases, in particular the PS3 from what we've heard will be serious contenders against the PC. If the PS3 does end up with 4 cell processors in for example nothing out there will beat it, but as I said before its unlikley to have that many. They're just saying it could have 4 to bump up hype for the PS3 as the XBox 2 winds up for launch
If you believe the tech specs and the 'expert' analysis from guys who've never seen the actual console, just specification numbers released by their respective owners, the PC may be knocked off its gaming throne.
However it'll be less than 6 months probably before the PC rules once more.
Consoles are 'stuck' with the same config for several years... until the next console launch. PC's are constantly being developed and upgraded.... so whilst console developments come in huge jumps every 4-5 years or so, PC is gradually over time. |

Thats a good thing and a bad thing. It means you keep having to update your computer. As soon as you buy it its out of date. At least with consoles you know that you can run evvery game out for the console. It makes it friendlier to those not to good with specs. So consoles are probably fiendly to young people, computers to the older people.
And there will always be good games for the PC whatever happens.  |

whats the point of buying xbox 1 and spending $370 aussie dollars and 1 yr later xbox 2 comes out, i dont think it will be much different |

Yeah its pretty damn soon for the next console. Can it be that much improved? At the rate technology is increasing it will be outdated in secconds And will original Xbox owners be able to buy games, or will it all move on to Xbox.
Far too soon in my opinion. Microsoft are just trying to take over the market in everything, trying to get in before PS3, it seems as thought they arent putting that much though into things, they just wanna beat Playstaion. |

I am probably the oldist here and I prefer the control pad to keyboard & mouse - of course I am more into 3rd person adventure/shooter or whatever you want to group the Oddworld series into *LOL* |

3rd person games are always, MUCH better on consoles, they are never as good on PC.
2d Platformers are fine, but 3rd person are better on console. |
