I ask long time ago to some of you, if it was possible to have the download link enable in mod CDC, but without a real answer, except that is not possible for moderator to apply this change.
Project Downloads
None available yet!
Little mod can be upload by authour because CDC space allowed is 10MB. To keep L4Y effective and clean in every aspect, can we have a request link to enable this unused space & wrong information for higher file size? At same time the Recent CDC Beta Releases section will be a lot more up to date this way...

What size would you find more suitable? |

Hi Garner,
The default size is needed and probably ok, I let this traffic management in your hand. I just would like to use this CDC feature and at the same time remove the wrong information about availability. The possibility for any author that his mod is higher to ask staff or moderator to enable the link cleanly in CDC, that's all...

You should be able to let the person link it to a mirror, or increase the size, and maybe make it even higher for gold members.  |

Yes, just have the working link in CDC to the L4Y mod file... About the gold members, I don't think is GoOd, because the higher file are still hosted by L4Y anyway and the goal is also to have the Recent CDC Beta Releases section up to date.

It was my request at the time for beta1.0, for sure & wish it for 1.1 too, but also for any mod authors and guest that browse L4Y and want right information. L4Y is the best RF website and like I say above, I would like to keep L4Y effective and clean in every aspect.

I'm having trouble understanding what you really want here...
I'm very busy with various other projects and the CDC isn't one of them. For the time being I've simply increased the limit from its rather restrictive 10Mb up to 50Mb.
That should let you store more there.
On a related note, whilst I edited this I made one little change... Gold subscribers now get double that, 100Mb of space. Might as well add another benefit to the account!  |

Oh so a file released onto the main site... still keep a link to it from the CDC?
If so... well I never say anything cant be done but this will be fiddly.
CDC project downloads are seperate from the main site downloads. The CDC downloads know who is their owner (ie which user's CDC it belongs to) whilst the main site.... well it doesn't even know what the CDC is. All it knows is the user who uploaded the file to the main site.
In short... yes it'll get done but not for a while I'm afraid. |

Nah thanks Hapa, I will ask Garner, you are NoClanFrank with Xmod beta 1.1, if is higher than the CDC limit Beta 1.0 is old now and I don't want to bother people with same stuff again in new release...

Exactly, simple CDC link to the mod file hosted by the main L4Y download, it will remove also duplicated file on the server...

GoOd , no problem, take the time it takes Garner.
I understand your side and agree to give more space in CDC for Gold member, but to be honest, I don't think this status should have power on CDC - Project Downloads link, when L4Y will one day work this way... Recent CDC Beta Releases need to be up to date.
Xmod Information
I stop online events with beta 1.0 because the CS system where only in one maps, with 1.1 release, I will not !! Unfortunately, I think a lot of people didn't read all info and doesn't know the existence of the CS system at all.
In beta1.0, Combat Suit System is enabling in the level dmrc01cs only! Is located in the center house granary, you need Geo weapon to access it, take the suit and push your use button to toggle the on/off activation.
I find also another method to keep CS system 100% synchro for all later join player without the Synchro Start System (Dedicated Server only). I found that CS and SP mode cannot be hosted cleanly by ClientServer, “listen server”, because the only way to make the system work in RF, use indirect keyframe UID to activate some effect that are always applied to the host, that mean is impossible to restraint the CS toggle activation for the ClientServer player. RF limit give this little restriction, but to have the system to let players join in & out anytime they want will help a lot to bring the small community together. L4Y is the most complete RF website, but sadly not very known by majority. With time, Mod DB extend the visibility of Xmod and I hope at least 1/4 of the ~550 download user will want the 1.1 update.
Xmod will have PlayDay after the Beta 1.1 release to let players have fun with the CS system enable in more maps. Combat Suit System will now simulate a Jetpack instead of static low gravity, weapon projectiles, Geo parts and Glass also react more then before to the CS activation. A new gamemode, Combat Suit - Survive and Protect, others tweaks like new VFX bullet, gun powder smoke and few more surprises…
About the release itself, estimation is hard, many things take my time and my temporary home network recently stop working due to broken hub...fix (to test server/client synchronisation & adjustment for bullet FX and gun smoke). Promo, will also take time, news, trailers, I want to bring Xmod to FileShack, FilePlanet, GameSpot that need a Profile level 10 to put user video, I'm 8, lol Anyway! In worst case, the update will be available before Christmas, I hope sooner!
Keep in mind that Wednesday will be the International playday of Xmod, a new Online Community section of Xmod CDC will help people to organize match event. A minority or not, I will play with friends & you are all welcome!
