I'm looking to get a new pair of head phones, because right now I just got an old cheap pair, but I have no Idea which ones to get.. Whats the best pair of head phones you can get for around $100 or less that would be good for gaming, listening to music and watching movies? |

SkullCandy are decent, HOWEVER, NOT good mid. So basically, NOT good for rock music, etc. Good for music with lots of beat, nothing more.
Sennheiser HD555 headphones are excellent and good luck finding better unless it's a higher pair of Sennheiser HDs. For headsets, I recommend the Sennheiser PC151. |

Those seam ike a good pair and got good reviews, but I was looking for something with a mic on them, preferable one that folds up when I'm not using it, just incase I want to chat while ingame.

$200 is more then what I want to spend on headphones.

Does the mic fold up on these?
Hmm the reviews seam good but some were saying they hurt your ears after about 2 hours of wearing them and that there not very loud. is this true?

Do usb headphones still use the soundcard? because the creative X-FI soundcards are supposed to be very good when using headphones so if I were to get one of those I wouldn't want the headphones to not use the soundcard.

hmm don't see any bose headphones on ncix.com, which is where I would be buying the headphones from.

The ones I use are similar to these but since I had them for a couple years I am not sure if they are same ones. They fit comfortably on and around my eyes. [I am assuming we have the same type of years since we both reside in North "America".] The bass and voice all sound good and yes the mike does fold up. I guess you want to be able to eat and play?
SENNHEISER PC151 3.5mm Connector Circumaural Headset for $39.99
And since our dollars are at almost the same value, it should cost you about the same.

Man you Canadians need a newgg.com near you. Mind is about 40 miles from where I live, so usually I get stuff that arrives the next business day. I've even ordered something as late as 11:00 PM and got it the next afternoon. FedEx and new.egg are an awesome pair when it comes to shipping thing to me. |

Haha, hell yea, FedEx should be back as NewEgg's main shipping company.
But yea, the PC150s, I love my pair, had them a bit over 2 years now and don't regret purchasing. They will take a bit getting used to, and once you've done so, will feel fine on your ears. You just have to, let's say... break them in. And yes, the mic easily folds up and down.
Btw, I dunno how much abuse this headset has endured, but it's been quite a lot, and nothing is broken on it, and it still sounds like when I first got it. |

Not true!!! You are wanting a mic, therefore your asking about a headset. Headphones and earphones wouldn't have a mic.
Anyway, Sennheiser is the best. I've used the PC151 and PC161's, looks like Frank has already put you on the right direction for those. I'm not a fan of USB unless your comp doesn't have any form of sound card (onboard or add on). Since a computer with no sound card is very rare, a USB system is just using up your computers resources needlessly. The ones I've tried sound terrible too
Unfortunately, Newegg won't ship to Canada but NCIX is a very good company too. |
