OK I got/had GTA4 for the PS3 great game loving it loads online was fun, 2 days after I got the game it stopped working. So I took it back to the store I got it from and they said it was the 3rd return that day. I then got a replacement copy went home put in the disk all great. Later that day I went to play the game again and it didn't work. So I deleted my player profile put the disk back in and yep it worked. then later that night tried to play the game again and yep it did not work deleted player profile again but this time it would still not work. I ended up taking the game back to the store and got my money back.
GUTTED I really liked that game, and before any1 says you should have got an XBOX360 it works fine on that I will say that's not the point there are some games I wanted that only PS3 have (for instance I am a big Ridge Racer fan)
I hope Rockstar find this problem and patch it I really want GTA4  |

Yeah it does work fine on 360 so i really dont know what to tell ya. maybe it's a problem with your ps3?  idk i dont actually own one myself.... |

The PS3 version has huge stability issues from what I've heard. XBox 360 is the console to get GTA IV for if at all. |

Actually BOTH platforms have stability issues with the game. PS3 being the better choice of the two from the articles I have seen, except with online play. Though there is a 12-step fix regarding that since the network was down or so.

Not according to that article you just linked. "While the majority of complaints appear to be coming from PlayStation 3 users, Xbox 360 owners with glitch-ridden game experiences have also voiced their frustrations online." |

Thank you for that link sobe it made an interesting read, tho I agree with one of the comments why should we wait for a patch after all its a console game not a pc game, what ever happened to quality control. I know this kind of thing would not happen with Nintendo, tho I am abit to old for the majority of nintendo games except Mario Kart  |

Yea GTA games work nice on PC I have to admit. tho I do like to lie on my sofa and be able to play a game on the big screen with a wireless pad......................Also my kids can play on my PS3 without the fear of them mucking up a critical file etc. |

Plus, if you have an 7900GT or higher, the graphics will be nicer than that of PS3, lol. XD Another reason to go PC or go home |

I have just read something about it on a dutch website.
"Is een bug in GTA IV met de information board van de ps3, gewoon ff uitzetten en je kan weer spelen, zo opgelost"
Translated it says, its a bug in GTA IV with the information board of the PS3, turn it off and you can play again.
It says, I don't own a PS3 and i don't know the problem so I hope this helps. |

I have the 360 version. Really cool game. The problem I'm having is its an absolute CENSORED to get a game online. With all the server errors. |

Yeah. I'm sure they will do. Just wait for sales on the console to slow down then I reckon there will be GTA for pc. |

I'm reading PS3 users are having problems all the time with GTA IV.

GTA4 shipped with many lemons, in both 360 and PS3. Neither is perfect, and both can freeze, etc. But the day the game came out I have seen more 360 reports than PS3. I'd say right now they are about the same. |

I'll be getting Mafia2. It already looks much better than GTA4. (ok why even try to compare GTA4s graphics with any other new game.. )
Mafia has always been the better game. The publisher of it isn't so selfish and releases it on PC. |
