| Red Faction : Lounge : No music with red faction |

I just re installed Red Faction, and I cant get any music to work. Every other sound works, but there is no music. When I went into setup, I tested the sound card, and the voice didn't play. What driver am I missing?
PS: I didnt really know where to post this. I had a choice of mapping or mapping tutorials, so I posted here. |

Did you download or buy RF?
If you downloaded it...
I don't know if the *cough* downloadable version of RF has music or not.. if it doesn't, don't expect anything because you didn't even pay for it. |

Well, in case if its a downloaded version some files may be missing.
Go to RF folder and check if there is a music.vpp and a test.wav
Do your guns make sounds ? |

I bought it off ebay for $5. Ive tried re - installing it, but that almost made it worse, because some key files were missing. I also cant update it no matter what i do. Maybe the copy is crap? |

Make sure in your control panel it is set to your sound output you are currently using, then do a restart. If that doesn't work, update sound driver. |

As far as your sound goes, try what Killer said.

Update server has been down for months. Though, if you are missing the music files, the update won't help you. It doesn't update the music. |

Before you drop any more cash, take a look at the size of your music.vpp - it should be around 199 MB.
I have had problems with the 2nd installer disc hosing up the music.vpp before. |
