| Red Faction : Lounge : Blue screening on RF |

My compy keeps on blue screening on RF but no other game or application. I formatted the other day because of other unrelated reasons, but it still blue screens after a min or so. The only thing I can think of is that I am using beta 177.92 display drivers. Could that be the most likely cause ?  |

Turn off your computer pull out the power plug, and through your computer out the window.
Thatll fix it for sure  |

Since these guys have not given you any help at all, I will be the one who will resolve this for you.
First off, Install the latest graphic drivers for your graphics card.
You must remove your old ones first, reboot, then install the new ones while using a horrible resolution  .
Next, go get the latest version of Pure Faction. You can get it from www.purefaction.org.
Install Pure into your main directory of your Red Faction folder.
By Default (C:/Games/RedFaction/)
Use the PF Launcher to launch your game. Now you will be safe from Saber hacking your computer.
Also, use a firewall, to be on the extra safe side.
If you still get the Blue Screen of Death when playing Red Faction, then I would suggest checking out all your hardware.
First off, we need to establish, does this issue happen ONLY with Red Faction? Or does this happen with multiple games...
If ONLY with Red Faction, then you may need to check the settings on the RF Launcher. Make sure your running a resolution that your graphics card is capable of running it in.
If Multiple games, you might need to inspect your hardware inside your computer, as there might be a fault somewere... mainly check your graphics card, make sure its plugged in properly and other hardware that could be loose from any connection. |

I roller back too 177.83 WHQL drivers . so far so good. Also with the beta drivers , Sandra would report " display drivers have stopped working but has successfully recovered" under any of the bench marks and burn in procedures involving GPU testing. but now they pass 100% 
I will keep u posted on how it goes |

Will PF cure all my bluescreen of death woes? Didn't think it would be an appropriate response here.
If it started after you installed the beta drivers, uninstall them. Sounds like the most likely culprit.

Use Pure, why didn't you try it with Pure  Do you think Pure can't fix it but a roll back can?
I just checked the release notes of .92
Not many games fixes, besides that, not even final 177.83 is that official. |

This thread isnt full of CENSORED , its full of fail. Leave the smartass comments to the pro. Too many people trying to make a smartass comment and failing.
Although when I play RF I dont get the blue screen of death, I get the red screen of life.  |

skvlad01 you say you rolled back the driver. My question is this.
Did you delete the folder that contains the beta drivers. If you don't usually (don't quote me on this) windows will reinstall the newer ones if they are still on the hard drive.
If you didn't delete the folder then uninstall the drivers but before you install or reboot the PC, delete said folder which probably should be C:NVIDIA drive. As you can see from my C drive. I have several version and if I ever wanted to roll back. I would have to delete the latest ones.

Yeah I did do that. I uninstall then I delete all leftover file and clean install the older ones.
According to windows, it recons its a hardware problem. But I very much doubt it cause I have been hammering my computer all weekend 15 hours straight with burn in programs for both GPU's and CPU and at the same time. and all is fine except RF. |

ha they were the worst ones out of all the drivers I have tested.
Now that I have whql drivers installed, windows is now able to determine what the problem is, unlike before where it would say "windows is unable to determine the exact cause and its a hardware or software problem"
