(im going to stop quoting/responding to everything so much otherwise this will turn into a out of hand peeing contest ... no one likes to read long winded posts that respond to every aspect there)
even if direct input was in the game, but disabled ... its disabled for everyone with regular RF ... only people with PF will be able to activate it ...

Thats true, it irks me when i see PF plugs as a fix for something when people don't even fully understand the problem ... or when people just start out playing RF or when people just say "Get Pure" without further explanation of what it is ... that irks me ...

To be honest, its not supposed to be a negative light ... you're just so uptight in thinking that im anti-pure that you can't see that   ...
I find the term "Anti-Cheat" to be misleading to uninformed people because its not really an anti-cheat anymore ... its more than that now that there are features added to the game that weren't there ... that make it no longer an anti-cheat ... so to me its classified more as an update rather than an anti-cheat  ...
its kinda like ... finding poptarts in what appears to be a regular cereal in a regular cereal box ... its better, yet confusing as hell  ...
It would be nice if it was reclassified to "3rd party update" or something like that so it's not as misleading ... but i already know what trotskie puts my suggestions ... LOL
Infact, now that i think of it ... 
Could someone please state as clearly and carefully as possible the goal that the creation of PF is trying to achieve (the overall goal ... as of now) ... its possible im just misunderstanding what you guys are trying to do ... |

Well I for one love the new PF although some of the graphics look a bit odd but I've been told that might be my GFX card. However I see from the rest of this thread there might be other issues... although I was a bit confused by the reference to poptarts, cereal and clown's CENSORED hair??? ... errr 
Whatever the case, it is a huge improvement on the first version which didn't seem to run right on my machine.

Arghhhh...... that kinda sucks cuz I know a lot of people think that's "glitching" so hopefully there will be a good variety of servers allowing the empty gun dump. |

yeah the good old people that claim it to be a glitch.
Those are the ones who don't use the railgun themselves. 
Sometimes they call me a glitcher when the railgun only had 1 shot and couldn't even reload.
Is that glitching too? Oh right..playing RF is glitching.
And why the hell are people calling it glitching anyway. Shouldn't it be more like bug abusing? But hell..I don't even see a bug in there.
There are games that automatically reload the weapon for you and others don't. RF does it, but you can delay it. On every weapon.

1. I decided to give PF 2 a try. The color or the rail gun heat sensor still sucks depending what you are trying to look through, I understand why it was done but that doesn't mean I have to like it.
2. I like the new scoreboard. 
3. I like being told how I died. Sometimes you get fragged and you don't know if it was by a rail or a fusion shot. Knowing how I was fragged makes me feel good inside.
4. Characters were skipping all over the place, but I think that had to do with the compatibility settings not being set to windows98/ME. 
5. The auto-down is good but only when I don't already have the maps. The server I play in has a web site that hosts the files, thus it's only an added feature that I might never need. I am sure most other players do.
6. I like Trump had the game crash on me as well. I wasn't able to CTL+ALT+DELETE out of the game. I had to reboot.  I think it happen when I was scoped on the rail gun and tried switching to another weapon(shotgun) real quick. I don't know if the helps or not but just thought I mention it.
7. As of now, I am still using an nVidia 6800 GT video card and do not require any of the fixes that Trotskie has implemented but many props to him for doing it for people with much better graphic cards than me.
8. I hope that If I ever do need to use the fixes for RF that PF delivers, then I hope that the PF is still up and running. I don't plan on building another PC for at least a year...you know when Red Faction 3 comes out for PC.
In conclusion, I don't need it yet, I DON'T CHEAT, so I won't use it.

I have a much better card. But still don't require PF to play it.
I recommend every Red Faction player to get Pure Faction 2.0 - warmly.
I finally got to test it out myself, and my prophecies come true.
PF2.0 opens the new era of Red Faction.
The auto download feature alone is worth the use of it.
Pure Faction in combination with NebulaMods.com support is one of the best things ever happened to RF. |

Yeah which is awesome, and more realistic. If I've got more than one weapon and I'm shooting at somebody, why should I stop to reload, when I can just switch to another weapon? |

Yes I agree.
I'm seeing this as a total legit type of playing. It's a skill to choose the right weapon in the right situation.
If other people fail to shoot me with other weapons say with a PR, while I'm missing the railgun shot, and holster it, and draw it, and aim again and start to reduce your HP while you are doing it since seconds - then the lack must be on your side. |

Freezing bug. I finally got to witness the freezing bug over remote desktop, and have figured out why it happens. I'll do my best to get an autoupdate out today to fix the issue. I'll also try to put a graphics fix in for people with very old nvidia cards. |
