Any of you guys seen this? I only just checked the CDC (hasnt been updated for a long time)

Stargate is about as fun as cancer 
I remember seeing this mod a while back, does look interesting, unlike the borefest that is the TV show 
In case you can't tell I hate stargate.
That and that cartoon which I cannot speak of are my 2 most hated things in life pretty much.

that is a very nice effect, but he should also try to get the circle thing to spin when you start to press the buttons like in the tv show |

Here's a Video I (very)quickly threw together.
Just shows the two types of gate dialing - SGC which has the ring spinning and standard which doesn't. Haven't quite got the sounds timed properly yet for the SGC. Oh and the jaffa at the end, they only have two animations loaded at the moment
I'm really happy to see there is still interest in my Mod I am still working on it, doing alot of 'side-mission' stuff at the moment - things you don't really need to do/see to finish the campaign but which will add some depth. |

I'll need beta testers soon for the SP at least As for the fancy gate opening, I'm still unsure about it, I might still use it along with the particles. The reason I'm not using it currently is because it's a vfx file, so the animation loops. Since I don't know when someone is going to activate the gate the animation probably won't be at it's start point when the gate opens. Thought about making it an entity so I can use animations at any time but haven't got around to that yet. |

VFX files can be spawned and they will always play from start on.
(example: Submarine explosion)
You can spawn them with the Explosion event or something.
Done that a couple of times in Lego I think. |

Hadn't thought of that, using the explosion to spawn them. Not sure the explosion can produce consistent direction though, I'll have a go at it though |

if not..maybe an entity which uses an VFX file for the "death animation" might help.
A killed entity might set the relative rotation to the VFX.
Of course it should be a hidden entity..that gets killed by an event...and it's just used as a dummy. (which doesn't move)

You mean finding alternate ways of accomplishing something given the poor functionality of RF. This is not hacking. Clever? Sure, but not hacking. |

Nice to see you around, continue the goOd work, many download wait you, the fact that is a TC, visual will attract extra people & is a franchise 
About your .VFX door, did you test the old simple method in the industry, swap keyframe Brush at same time instantly? One object is your stand by .VFX water door, the other, is the animated gate launch with wave, you will be able to activate exactly when you want.
