PC-based Star Wars fans can look forward to a new RTS-game where the action take place in a galaxy far, far away......
Do the world really need a new Star Wars game? LucasArts seem to think so, and it is now a fact that they are working on a Star Wars RTS-game. The company's CEO, Jim Ward, said so in an interview this week. On the good side is that this game might be something more than a clone; the developers are none less that Petroglyph.
If the name Petroglyph don't tell you anything, it is because the company has never made any game earlier. On the other side, the people behind the company have loads of experience, based on the reason that most are veterans from Westwood Studios. Some of them have been making RTS-games since Dune 2 was created (and this game was a main reason for the development of those kind of games). This should mean the development of the game is in safe hands.
Jim Ward also said that the game will move the RTS-games in a complete new direction, and with a balanced gameplay that will suit both hardcore gamers and th eplayers that are more fond of Star Wars then RTS-games. Not much information released yet, but I guess it won't take long before more serious information will be out. |
