Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six-series will be increased next year, with Rainbow Six 4 for Xbox, PC and PS2.
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 4 is developed by Red Storm Entertainment (who made the original Rainbow Six) and Ubisoft Montreal. As usual, you are the leader of Team Rainbow, which are said to be the best antiterror unit in the world. This time they won't only have to fight a group of terrorists that threatens to use biological weapons, but they also will have to defend themselves against a direct attack by a terrorist organisation.
Rainbow Six 4 will be founded on the ingredients that made the Rainbow Six series a success. but it will also introduce a new singleplayer-experience with a rougher and more personal storyline. This time you can play as two members of Team Rainbow; the fearless leader of the group, Ding Chavez, and the sniper Dieter Weber who has to cover the group's activities with deadly accuracy.
The multiplayer-possibilities will be even better in the new game, and Ubisoft also states that the PS2 and Xbox-versions will have brand new and exclusive multiplayer-possibilities. For PS2, they talk of a modus named "Rivalry", where the members of Team Rainbow will have to fight against highly skilled soldiers of fortune to achieve a series of goals. For Xbox, you can create your own soldier and increase his skills as you play on the net.
Those of you who want to stay with singleplayer, can look forward to more intelligent enemies, who use a lot of advanced strategies. Besides, you can play with a lot of the latest hightech fighting equipment. such as movement detectors and MTAR-21 "micro-assault rifle".
Here is a video from the game:

mercinaries can always be better than any government run special operations team, they can use unconventonal methods and since they are privately run they can get whatever level of training the company decide to invest in them, most of them are ex special forces as it is, executive options is one sutch company, its kinda scarry if you think about it. |

It would be like making "XIV", the number itself holds significance.
Speaking of which, what are they waiting for with the XIII sequel? |

Quoting LyNx | why do the call them rainbow six rainbow six |
Originally based on the book "Rainbow Six" by Tom Clancy.
"John Clark (a.k.a. Rainbow Six) has left the CIA to create an England-based organization code-named "Rainbow." Its mission: deploy an elite squad of American operatives combined with handpicked British, French, and German agents to stop terrorism in its tracks. Rainbow's emergence could not be more timely: in quick succession, the force diffuses three attempted terrorist actions. But Clark becomes suspicious when Russian agents suddenly show interest in Rainbow's work."

The book is fantastic, love the book . Great to read if you want a background story for the games. Its quite long though (about 900 pages), so its not for everyone. |
