A property in the swedish MMORGP-game Project Enthropia was sold for $26500 not long ago.
Project Enthropia is a MMORGP-game where real money can be freely exchanged for virtual money and back again. If you want to buy something in the game, you can use your debetcard to make sure your character can afford it. If you have made good money from performing tasks or dealing with other players, you can exchange that money for real money and spend it on something useful, like upgrading your PC.
The Swedish developers held an auction where the players could bid on a big treasure island in the game. This island is 6000 acres, and has a unique castle (no furniture included) and areas dedicated to mining and hunting. The winner of the auction, Zachurm "Deathifier" Emegen, paid US$ 26500 to make sure he became the owner of the virtual property.
Now he can issue taxes for everyone who lives or works on the island, and may sell parts of it to other players, if that is what he wants. The sixty properties on the island alone have an estimated value higher than what he paid, so he obviously hopes that the investment will pay off in the future.

The game itself seems a little like the old adage "If I were payed to do nothing I'd be rich!" I'm too young to be throwing my money into a game which I might add is free to sign up for. However, gimmie an X-Box and a copy of Halo 2 and watch those dollars fly away!
I prefer free games with great graphics, my current MMORPG is Mu Online |

The idea is stellar. The guy that bought that island must be pretty well off to be able to "invest" so much money. Good idea though, cuz it sounds like that thing is going to return him way more than he paid.
This has to be quoted cuz I nearly fell out of my chair when I read it.
Quoting SkipRat | what the hell u on about DG dont start gaying about again.

This game sounds good and everything. but when you actually start playing its rather boring....
Good idea though, I wonder what other games will follow this on..... |

True enough. Though I find that in my day-to-day life "Don't start gaying about again" has to be said quite often. |
