The long-awaited DX9 trailer has finally arrived. Showing both indoor and outdoor scenes, it is a sight to see.
The developers' comment:
"The DX9 renderer is shown in all its beauty (although in the future we will show this functioning in full outdoors and in daytime). Lighting is all dynamic – even each blade of grass casts a shadow from any light source.
Combat AI is demonstrated - team actions, accurate reactions from the sounds of characters other beings, accurate reactions from the grenades as well as the AI ability to evade gun-fire and grenades, camping skills as well as ambush and group attack."

Nice video...weapon sounds dont sound to clever though. I like the ability to shoot through walls...lol , however you seem to go through a lot of ammo to kill one person.
The ability to drive vechiles is really good but couldnt they have shown something a little better than a tractor (that was jerky as hell). I also noticed there was no subtitles for non Russian speaking people, such as myself, would have been nice to hear what they were talking about.
Was that a Zombie from HL2 I saw!!!! and those killer rats is that not a mini version of the ones in Red Faction, seems to me IMO that its about 10 or so games thrown into one.
I'll still go and buy it though.....cant wait, drool |

Quoting sobe | OMBudda thats as good as CounterStrike: Source if not better |
D'oh.. the source engine is soooo over hyped. If it had been released before Far Cry and/or Doom 3 then it would have set more of a benchmark.
Quoting STALKER tech | Lighting is all dynamic – even each blade of grass casts a shadow from any light source. |
Now thats impressive, STALKER pees over Source from a great height, Im not saying HL2 or CSS is bad game, Im just saying the engine would have been more impressive if it had been released on schedule in Sept 2003 |

Q: Which multiplayer modes will there be in the game?
A: There will be a multitude of modes, standard (team deathmatch, CTF), as well as some more exotic ones. The developers understand the importance of a good implementation of net play modes and will definitely not neglect it.
Q: Will the game engine support custom mods and maps like the quake and unreal engines do?
A: It will certainly, since mods are a token of the game's longevity. The full version of the game will come with a wide range of tools for the creation of custom levels and objects for the game.
Q: How many players will be able to join an online game?
A: Up to 32 players per one game server.
Q: How many hours will it take an average player to complete the game?
A: 30-40 hours, if you never stop to think. Or 70-100 if you indulge in world exploration, get down into development, look for secrets, take part in the story line.
