I personally think that needs a little emphasis... Your Own Server. That means full access to the machine to run the games you want and with the configuration you want. You can run dedicated servers for a several of your favourite games if you wanted!

180ms to LA from Australia! I get that on my 56K to next door! 
I get 261 to the LA from the UK on my 56K. Thats about the lowest ping I can hope for on a 56K to the US.
NYC was around 180ms, Dallas was 213ms with Chicago on 230ms

Most of our servers (currently,) are in NYC. That's where our primary datacenter is located. We're also planning on a datacenter in Miami, FL.. but wondering if anyone will be interested in it.
We're providing some more connectivity this morning, actually, in the NY datacenter location. Within the next few hours, Global Crossings will be linking up with us.

Actually I do it everytime I mention Levels4you in one of my newsposts, it was sort of a joke from my side, but no-one laughed at it, seems they only laughed at me for it 
And last time I checked, you needed donations to keep Levels4you running, suddenly you can spare $150/month?

RedFrog... there isn't an RF GSP server, the main problem is there is no standalone dedicated server for RF - you need the game installed which would mean transfering ISO's of the CD's to the server and using something like DaemonTools to install the game from those ISO's. Its something I'm looking at for the L4Y server here but on a 56K modem uploading two CD's is asking a little much of the poor lump of metal in my machine
Of course there is nothing stopping someone buying a server, uploading the ISO's, installing and then running 4 or 5 dedicated servers from it... 
Off to have fun with settting up the server now... |

aye...
but there is one limitation to GSP.
If your server is Linux you can only install Linux dedicated servers...
If your server is Windows, you can only install Windows dedicated servers.
UT2k3 runs best under linux...
L4Y's server is running Red Hat, FYI |

Garner your profile tells me you have a cable connection. But you always talking about a 56k 
I didn't know that cable means 56k? 
editanyway we don't need a ded. RF server. Hooaah was so good for many people because foe was sometimes there and fixed the problems changed maps etc.
I'm looking forward to play on the UT2003 server but I don't think the ping will be that good to me German servers are still better with Pings around 50 to me.
Ping doesn't matter..I want fun
Hope u hosting it and I'll find DemonHunter maybe (make sure you adding 2 bots or so...minimum players 3 so players wont get bored waiting for players. You read my post on page1? |

There are lots of RF servers on the tracker, and most of the time they are empty.
Onto the L4Y server....great idea! Now I need to get and learn to play UT2k3. (did I mention I am on a first name basis with the guys at the pc store?)

Profile is out of date... I used to have cable at university. Since I finished there I'm living with my Dad while I look for a job. We're stuck on 56K here because theres no availability for anything else in this area due to fibre optic cables being used.
Pimp, I know we're on Linux on your server... we're on Windows on this server however... I've been looking at an RF dedicated server here for about the past month or so

I order mine online... I'm too lazy to go buy them from the store It costs less in packing costs than it does to drive my car in pay to park and drive back. I just have to wait a day for it instead... |
