Red Faction: Guerilla PC Delayed
by Nick Breckon May 21, 2009 3:25pm CST tags: Red Faction: Guerrilla, Delay

The PC edition of Red Faction: Guerilla has been officially delayed nearly three months beyond the console release, according to publisher THQ.

Retail listings for the title had marked the PC version of the shooter for an August 25 release as early as late April. The title is currently scheduled for a June 2 release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

While THQ was at first reluctant to respond on the issue, the company today confirmed the delay, saying: "The PC sku will ship a bit later then the consoles, during this summer."

Not a very credible source . People, don't take this with much more than a grain of salt until RedFaction.com says it themselves.

It's not really news.
They (THQ) just made the obvious official.

Fileshack is absolutely correct and legit with their news.

Yeah, I've known for some time now that the PC version was going to be months behind the console versions.

I checked the various retailers linked on THQ's website and here are the release dates posted.

Amazon 08/25/2009
Best Buy 10/07/2009
EB Games 08/25/2009
GameStop 08/25/2009
SteamPowered 2009
Wal-Mart 08/25/2009

Hope that helps everyone.

It's not like I haven't waited 9 years for this.... I can wait 3 months for the PC version.
Me, I hail from Thunder Bay, Ontario. I'm under-played in stereos.

I haven't waited for this neither.
And I'm not waiting for it at all. Jeez, just because it has the Red Faction title?

Delaying PC versions is a lame strategy to try to make more money.

Just got an updated ship date from Best Buy on my pre-order and it does look like 25 August is the date. Took them long enough to agree with the other retailers.

I can wait as long as December 2009.
IF its not out by then, I'll just start playing Freeze Tag VCTF on UT2004.

Yesterday, THQ announced the PC version of RF:G, in which you can collapse buildings, will be released:

September, 11th 2009

Think your own part about that.
They've also released a few first PC screenshots. They look rather dull.

Such a bummer that they decided to destroy RF:G by porting it, should have been made for PC then ported to consoles. I don't even play RF:G that much. To me, it's eh.

ahahaha nah
One reason is the piracy on PC.
Another reason is to abuse the foolishness of the people that would buy both versions. (and that most likely only happens on delayed versions)

..when it finally was released...the l4y RF:G forums were actually more silent than they were before.
No glorification at all.
It's just some arcade-meh game that is fun for once and then you can simply forget about it.
Hell, I even glorify Red Faction1, still.

They are so delaying the ports on purpose, and most people tolerate it.
I wouldn't even care if the game doesn't come for PC at all.

Meh..... I kind of agree with Red Frog on this one. I thought the game was going to be alot more fun than it is. They may as well have called it something else..... I wouldn't be as disappointed by it then. Granted, it's fun to smash people with the hammer and tear down buildings, but is it entertaining enough compared to the original game? Not at all.

I'm getting the impression that maybe when (or should I say IF) it ever comes out for PC that maybe I shouldn't bother buying it.
