We all have games we are looking forward to in the next few months, days, weeks (I'm counting the minutes till Call of Duty and XIII come out ). What about next year? Over at PC Gameworld.com, the reviewers have compiled a list. These are the "Most Wanted of 2004": Half Life 2, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Vampire: The Masqurade - Bloodlines, Bard's Tale, Splinter Cell - Pandora Tomorrow, Painkiller, Rome Total War, Battlefield Vietnam, World of Warcraft, Everquest 2, Doom III and Deus Ex: Invisible War. Check out the article, here.
Do you agree or disagree? Do you have some to add? The ones in italics are going to be definate purchases for me.
Enjoy! |

NvidiaClanFrank Quote | BTW have you tried the new drivers for nVidia and did you read that they got an increase of 30 percent performance by switching drivers | Yes I had those installed, did not help my cards performance.
NvidiaClanFrank Quote | You people just post and not read what model I am referring too. |
Me Quote | Not trying to change your mind, and I saw the model number. I think the FX cards are not as good as the ones before, or my new one. Just some friendly advice. |
Get the card you want, try it if it works for you good. If not keep your receipt handy |

When I said "You people just post and not read what model I am referring too", I was actually only referring to Sorrow.

Here are some good articles on ATI and nvidia including the 5950 for anyone trying to make up there mind on which card to get.

I also read on anandtech's site (I can't find it right now though) that game makers prefer to right their code based on ATI's hardware technology because it is better optimized and alot easier for them to right their code than it is for Nvidia cards which explains why most newer games are running better on ati's cards than nvidia. Also nvidia cards are not directx 9.0 compliant regardless of what nvidia says.

Personally, I would never purchase a vid card directly from the manufacturer. You can get the exact same cards elsewhere for less.
For better prices, check out http://www.mwave.com
I just purchased the ATI ALL-IN-WONDER RADEON 9800 PRO 128MB and paid less than the asking price of the ATI RADEON 9800 PRO @ the ATI site.
It pays to shop around. |

Quoting REDFROG | for these games you will need video cards |
ROFL!!! Without the newer cards, some of the games may not play. Some machines may not support the newer cards. It is a natural progression to disscuss card and pc upgrades, when you talk new games. The engines these games are built on require more. |

The 5950 isn't out yet, so I showed a piccy of the card closest to it. But if it pisses you so off, I will remove it. |
