New mIRC 6.12 Exploit...
Posted Oct 27th, 10:26am by MSM1000
Source: IrcHelp.org.

A new found exploit has been used to crash many people's mIRC clients. All versions from 6.0 thru 6.11 were affected, version 6.12 was released Oct 13 to fix the problem. The exploit involves a DCC command which can be sent to any person or channel, no matter what your DCC options are. (DCC is used to trade files or for DCC chat.) Just download the new version to fix this problem.

Check EFnet #mIRC topic (use /raw list #mIRC if you cannot join) for updates too.

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. Its just a chat program with lots of rooms... if you can be bothered you can create your own. Its quite easy to use once you get used to the layout.

The DCC Stands for Direct Client to Client connection.
It allows you to send files or share files. Its very much like an FTP server.

mIRC Website!

You dont have to send files or anything like that if you dont want to. Its just an added feature.

Its used by most as a chat program! Tahts all... Its free as well which is a plus!

Try it out, you can always get rid of it if you dont like it.

To put it another way you could say that IRC is like real-time forum chat without annoying staff members filtering out anything you say, but there are still authority figures that lay down the law

Lucky me I use mIRC 5.9. I'm immune
