Plus Servers are moving to Version 1.3 of Red Faction, as of 12th December. Downloading Lazyban 3 will allow you to play on this version of Red Faction as well as the older versions. Original source of this news was cookie .

Bad move. Nobody will join then.
The people who join there are some default maps players just visiting it because the server is so full.
They won't get the news about 1.30
Plus will see.. |

heh, I gotta agree, very bad move, not many people will play on there servers, it will be interesting to see the news topic about plus servers moving back to 1.2  |

Yeah because you wont get anybody to join your server 
Some people should get that 1.30 has died after it has released. I have advertised it on every 1.20 server. Some people were switching to it. But it was just not enough.
ALL players in RF HAVE to switch to 1.30 so nobody will switch back.
Its THQs mistake that you can play with every version on RF. New games will block you without the newest patch which will avoid any splitted groups.
When 1.30 came out THQ wasn't supporting RF anyway. |

I don’t see what the problem is. Everyone install 1.3 then you can play on all servers Red Faction offer. No switching versions 
By 1.3 I mean lazyban3 because is supports all versions. The other 1.3 file failed because people had to upgrade and go backwards and forwards version to play. I suggest l4y delete that old 1.3 file. And we all promote layzban3 as an upgrade, with backwards compatibility |

And how to tell this everybody? You can't.
nope
LazyBan 1.30 doesn't work with the german version
it might work when you add the english ui.vpp to it. |

Problem is there are still people out there that are not using lazyban at all and I doubt they will start any time soon unless we all can somehow spread the word but it has been tried before. I bet they will go back to 1.2 in less than a month. Besides they ban more people than they let play on there server anyway.

There are so many people playing just for fun on 1.20 servers.
A lot of people just don't know about this page STILL. Or they aren't visiting it anymore because they don't care about unplayed custom maps..
I haven't seen many modders since a half year. Maybe they got bored and switched the game or just stopped it.
For some people modding is new and the want to be somebody cool, rule everybody in a server because they can fly but noone else can. |

What else would people be playing for "Money" or something. As far as I know everyone that plays RF plays because they think it is fun but then I could be wrong. 
I still see modders, Fate had one the other day on her server it was one of the Evil clan modders. Wonder if Pickles has all them on his MSN maybe he could kindly ask them to stay the feck off of normal servers.

well I think it is a bold step and I hope it pays off thats for sure, If they switch then 1 by 1 other servers start switching LB1.3 will take off! (like a helicopter... chugga chugga chugga)

Nope grim, you play to win and nothing else.
I mean the people just want to have a quick match in RF on a default map, but they are usually not playing this game. |

So what you are saying Frog is that I don't even enjoy the game right, I just play this game to win and that is the only reason I play. Now I know for sure you are the most stupid ediot I have seen on here in a while.
Just let me remind you that even though the game is fun and I do enjoy playing it the main thing the game is made for is getting the required amount of kills to end the game. If that was not the case there would be no score at the top of the screen and the game would never end because there would be no goal to achieve. Don't be pissed at me because you can't accomplish the that goal. MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Even hooaah wasn't able to survive in 1.3, and that was when ALOT RF had more potential players....

We on [RtD] tried to move the server to 1.3 a while ago (3 months). I made an installer for LazyBan 3 (or 1.3, as you call it), and started promoting it. It didn't work out very well...
No real reason for it to work now if it's just Plus who do it.
If, however, a sort of 1.3 union could be formed, which would include the major servers, it would create a domino effect.
A good way of spreading LB 3 would be to bind it with some 'goodies'. It will most likely be included in ISM 1.2, for example. It would be nice to include it in other mods and major server rotation packs.
Instead of putting all this effort into explainning why it won't work, why won't you guys try promoting it? |
