Damn these companies need to invest in hardcore security and have two machines, one for web browsing and email and another to develop the game on, and the machines they develop the games on need to be a completely different network which is no way attached to the net, transfers they need off of the net should come off of CDROM or USB flash disk. |

What is the point of ppl stealing Sh...Stuff? 
I mean it Delays the game most of the time it isnt playable its illegal (that doesnt stop em!)  and it makes it more of a Security Risk to anyone Playing the game online.

Stealing the source code yes.
But a leaked alpha doesn't cause any real harm.
Its like a early demo, one that doesn't run very well and doesn't look all that nice, but gives a taste and makes people want more 
Most of the leaked Alphas/Betas are playable. They are pre-compiled and once you know how to operate them they work fine.

More than likely, the HL2 example is going to be used with comiled versions getting supposedly stolen, its BS, release a demo when the game is ready. |

Is it all down to clever people hacking into the developer's networks, or could it be the work of actual development team members who are PO'd at their terms of employment and are out for revenge  |

I think the HL2 code was 'leaked' so the developers had an excuse to delay the game
Believe me when I say games at beta stage have a LOT of bugs in. Anything beta or earlier is just asking for trouble. |

im very disapointed in the STALKER alpha, there AR sucks!, i know there this is the alpha but its a gun there is no reason they will change it shows a compleat lack of knowledge about real guns. they put the button to force the action closed on the wrong side and used it as a charging handle. they also made the ejection port cover spring closed after eatch shot, they spend the time to actuly go to chernoble and take pictures but they cant spend the time to go to a gunshow or a shop and handle the guns they are making. i find it very unprofeshonal. |
