It's made of pretty much all detail brushes... it is by no means light on performance

I have my netbook (Integrated GFX w/ Atom 1.6GHz) if you need testing

It gets 60FPS on dm02

Does that mean that if I replace the textures with lower quality(size), the level will run smoother?

It will affect for sure, but you will have dirty pixel lighting instead of soft light gradient. Him happy you liked my quote

It is actually lighter on the hardware if you have a map with just 3 big textures, than a map with 100 textures + unknown high amount of lightmaps.

Assumed that 7 2048 mega texture, the count of 256 is more comparable around 448 textures, or 1792 for 128, which, & I hope anybody ever saw that in a RF map! I don't even think of 4096 texture!! But I understand the little factor you point out about file texture count comparable. Anyway, the game start to be very old, many have acceptable computer, the worst it can happen is some will have issue. The level design with simple Brush color allow this kind of experimentation in RF, which is probably not possible in a traditional map, except maybe, in a very small level or with a Mega computer. It will be strange to run RF with no shadow glitch

Quoting RED-FROG

I hope it's some fun to play it online, if not, well then I've created some art at least

Bah , I don't have incertitude about that, obstacles & multi step can only be a goOd design decision when making a level, it will be fun.

meh, atom isn't made for 3D apps.
I get 120fps+ @ 1680 & working 8xAA 16xAF. I can't bring it to the knees no matter what I do.
Actually RED started heavly to lag when I assigned lightmaps to all surfaces. (I had to do that to allow geomod, but the plan failed - RFs engine fault so I removed them again. Usually all maps have them.)
Now since there are no lightmaps I don't expect any slowdowns on slower systems. And there also aren't 7 2048x2048 textures.

I thought that map was a good way to start 2010
Map reached the almost-final status. Can't wait

hmm, in some testing matches I've found out that you can shoot through the glass planes with almost every weapon. Perhaps need to adjust alpha channel or something.

I tried it by increasing opacity. No luck. No idea what's going on.
ok I kinda answered myself

that somehow gave me the idea to try it..

Why does this game always have such secrets.
w00t, the walls now make glass noise but at least I'm back on track again

edit

I've uploaded it to l4y
