People liking a map doesn't mean it has good gameplay, much less when those people are mainly developers who don't know a great deal about game theory.
NOTE: Before you flame me, I didn't mean that as an insult, just a general observation.
NOTE2: Like I said before, I don't claim to be perfect. Many of my maps play horribly and lack creativity as well.
PS. Koenigsklasse is a box. Boxes don't have good gameplay. |

Goober, you talk too much.
Too much garbage.
People decide which map they like by their own feel and opinion.
Not basing your weird game theory. You can stick with it, but please don't talk about it captain obvious. Many people do "general observations".
I can also critizise WoC or Koenigsklasse. Who ever said the layout of them was a stroke of genius? Who said those are the absolute pr0 maps with perfect gameplay?
I know YOU (try to) strive for that CENSORED lately. But that wasn't my intention AT ALL.
Koenigsklasse is not just a box. It has jumppads, walls and an item placement throughout the map which create a gameplay.
What you feel is a good or bad gameplay is your own thing.
wrecks has tons of famous maps, but in many of them I ...I SAID I....don't like the gameplay. Mainly because for the lack of weapons. But people played the maps nontheless.
Usually you could find 10+ wrecks maps servers - 24/7.

Thanks guys, you wrecked my thread  . I want to pass the limits in red to generate a great town 3 map. I don't care at all about performance, as my map is aimed for people with high end computers. Goober, you do generally state that you like to see maps with good performance but you base your opinion on competitive game play. I do not like competitive game play as it kinda destroys the fun out of the game. People playing games and taking it seriously destroys the fun for those who wish to play and have a good time. An example of this is call of duty 4 - modern warfare 2. I've played the game a lot and notced that its community is full of angry, snot raging children who complain that you suck at the game... So this arguement over quality over performance does not lye here in this thread, because my map has gone past the performance mark and into quality .
I am also gonna ask, please can u guys discuss this matter in a seperate thread please ?. |

LOL, no switches or doors in it yet. I am concentrating on getting the buildings in first, rather than little small secrets and stuff .

I have just had one of the best idea's for the Town 3 map. To make this more interesting, I am going to place a hiddin message into the map that will require you guys some terrific brain skills to work it out. This is going to be Epic! I am not going to give you any hints or any idea's what this hiddin message could be, but when you find it out, you will be suprised  . |
