Does anyone know how to get rid of the sound made when the 'jump pad' box is ticked in the properties of the push region?
I'm making an escalator (NOT elevator) and the sound is amazing!!! but irritating too hehe
Thx for help.

just untick it, it should still move the player as its a push region

errr...that was the first thing i tried if I untick the jump pad box it just makes the character go forward slightly then stop due to the slope...for some reason the jump pad effect makes it go up. I have tried putting the push region at different angles without the jump pad button on with no success

Yeah I had this problem when I was going to make escalators for Town 3. The player just seems to suddenly stop while going up on the escalators.
I don't know if this would work, but instead of lining up the push region with the slope, try rotating it so that it is pointing upward slightly from the slope.

So say your slope is 45 degrees up, point the arrow of the push region about 50 degrees or more. See if it fixes the fault of the player stopping.

An alt route you can go is do what I did with Run Challenge 2. I replaced the jump pad sound with a custom one that can be placed within the VPP map file. It over writes the orginal, so you could create a wav file called JumpPad.wav but with no sound on it.

The only problem with this is, you will not be able to upload it to faction files with the modified sound file as they take a moral stance against modifying anything in RF with a file and they will remove it or ask you to before uploading.
Make sure you take that into consideration .

Thanks for the advice, but as i said before I have tilted the box to the degree that the guy just smashed into the roof! But with no avail The map im making is based in a shopping mall with lots of different styled shops...and the escalators look good in it. I already have a lift in place, and plan to make some stairs next to the lift, but I'm not sure that will be enough as this DM map is turning out to be pretty huge.
The other option that you suggested was one I have considered...but as you say, rf go crazy about that sort of thing.

Well I don't give a rats CENSORED about what people don't want to replace the stuff. I give them the option to remove it so they cannot complain. The only reason I stated the fact about faction files is because they don't want replacement stuff going through the auto downloader, as discussed a while back with digimon or gooberhead . I respect their rule for that so I uploaded 2 versions of the map. One with the sound replacement here on l4y, and one without, on factionfiles/auto downloader. So you could still do it . Other than that, I am not sure what you could do to fix the problem with the player getting stuck on the stairs... Sounds annoying.

Yea, don't do that. It messes with people if maps have files that affect your gaming experience while you're not playing that map.

That's the reason we remove any such files from maps uploaded to Faction Files. The problem gets worse with the autodownloader though. Take an example:
You just got the game and downloaded PF. You join a server running some random map and autodownload it. It has a modded Rocket Launcher model. You join another server and your rocket launcher model changed. You're going to probably blame it on PF or do what some people do and say "They hacked me!" (either referring to the server they joined or to factionfiles) We avoid all this nonsense by just removing the developer's ability to mess with the player's gaming experience unless he wants them to. (IE. is playing that map)

Good example goober, but it's only sound that he would be editing. It would not affect game expierence at all. I do agree with what you said with the rocket launcher though, that's a correct response. But in respects to this, I did mention to him to upload a none modifing version of the map to faction files and a modifying version to l4y. I hope you read that part and took consideration :-).
