No, you make your maps around what the engine can handle if you are intelligent.
Also, hardware doesn't ever evolve to a point which makes gameplay irrelevant.
Oh, and one last thing: don't post your level in a discussion forum if you don't want people discussing it.
EDIT: Nice job bypassing the language filter with "bollucks" btw. |

I for one think that maps can have horrible game play and still be fun. Not to say game play isn't important, just that it can be dismissed for fun's sake on occasion. Take a look at most of the multi-player maps from Goldeneye 007, horrible game play. They consisted of linear snippets from the single player levels but they were still a blast to play. |

Perhaps you misread what I said, here is a simple version for you to understand. Gameplay is not really a discussion about my maps. Gameplay is a completely different subject which you have brought up on a number of occasions. Infact you bring it to any known topic of mine because it is your way of saying "Spikey, your map is huge and it is going to kill my frame rates! Please make it smaller. Use smaller textures and use less faces". But you hide behind the "Gameplay" excuse instead of telling people what you REALLY think.
Goober, bypassing the language filter with the word "Bollucks" would mean that the word would need to be in the filter in the first place to bypass it. So you are wrong. If its not in the filter, then it is not considered as swearing to this site.
You need to pull your tounge out of the rulebooks butt my friend.

Do they Feck as like. Anyway Spikey that looks awesome. And I agree with you 100% make ya maps for fun, make what you enjoy If some1 wants to map purley for gameplay let them........Hopefully they may be inspired by a map that some1 made just for looks or innovation and incorporate something from it into there map.
Perhaps have your stargate uploaded here as a group I am sure plenty would use it. Or at least be inspired by it  |

I agree with you Spikey. Gameplay certainly is not the end all be all. I like to put fun things in my map. which probably hurt performance. But, afterr all, most of us are not that serious about gameplay and framerate for RF anymore. If that your schtick, then great,.

and the strangest thing is that no one does anything when the words are bypassed. Then you get someone like goober who feels the need to make it worth mentioning that you bypassed filter, because he recons he could get you TU'd or banned from the site. That is obviously his main goal, no questions about it.
If he has such a big issue over it, then he will need to speak to someone who cares . Very hard to find someone who does here... |

Yup, you got the nail on the head. My primary goal in life is to have you banned from a Red Faction forum.
I felt the need to point out that you are breaking the forum rules while I am not, yet I get admins messing with my signature and post count (not that I really care about my signature and post count anyway... but still) and you get nothing. This is a statement about the usefulness of the site's moderators, not about you. |

Incorrect, Its just a small case that no body really likes you . That is why they do it. I could be wrong, but then again, I could be right  .
To be honest, everyone at this site has probably broken most of the rules. The admin's, could not care less because its just a minority. What they don't need is a little tell tale like yourself to bring it up every time someone swears and bypasses the language filter.
In all fairness, the filter is put into place so that the stuff is censored to younger members of the community, yet the site supports a few games that require you to be over 18 to play them. Doom 3 is a good example of a game that has a 18 years of age certificate slapped on it (Source).
Also, to put a end on this debate, what position are you in to notify people they are bypassing a filter anyways? I took a look at Pure Faction forums just a moment ago to have a neb around. I see multiple people who swear and use foul language, yet I can see you doing jack CENSORED about it. You are also a moderator as your name is shown in the list of moderators under each section of the forum. Now I know that the purefaction forums has different rules, and probably allows swearing, but the amount of times you have posted in these forums, notifying everyone about bypassing it clearly states to me that you are against swearing, yet you swear your self .
This mean you are contradicting yourself and have no rights or needs to say that someone bypassed the filter.
This is where this discussion about the swear filter ends as you have been proven wrong.

Discuss with the admins, they can point you in the correct direction. I also remember that you were TU'd from here before then the TU was lifted. What ever you did surely made someone unhappy  .

You must be slipping Goober. If you read my post properly, I did not say "everyone" is a minority.
Let me quote that section to you again.
The admin's, could not care less because ITS just a minority.
The word I placed in caps does not refer to people. I do not class people as "it". I class people as "people". What I was refering to was the language filter rule. Even from this standard, everyone else would reconise that I was refering to that rule.
Again, discussion of this is over.
Anyways, back on topic,
I am planning on releasing this as a RF group for you wounderful people to work out how it works (not difficult) and construct some amazing maps with it . |
