For a nice waterfall effect, use Semi-transparent water textures if you can find any.

Have you played Bioshock? I loved the water effects in that game.

*psssst: i seem to have lost my PSP 7 Disc, does anybody know where I can get it from?*

PSP 8 is very CENSORED buggy, i can't remeber 9 but i know that was rubbish too. i don't like any other but 7.... and neither does RF it seems, at-least when i use it.
keep it simple I say. <---Then there's less bugs........

nice work ric, reminds me of that game - STALKER but! your map is so much better GFX wise.

crazy, 2 different games and stalker been the newest and RF still seems to come out with the better GFX - this is why i am still playing this game 10 years +

Good to see the site back on-line although most of the buttons are missing lol
Just thought i'd show what my maps looking like after all the time.
It's just a shame this game is getting very small community now and my mods probably never going to be played at its best due to the lack of people.. awh well I keep at it though because its fun.

It's done now was reaching reds limits so sadly I couldn't add any more to it. I'm currently working on another map. The maps are all part of a mod I'm doing for fun.

Chopping portal: 29/29
Cleaning final geometry...
Building rooms...
Fixing up texture uvs for ps2...
Had to add 93 faces to fix ps2 tiling.
Fixing any t-joints...
Fixed 307 t-joints.
Checking for holes...
It's over nine-thousand!
Brushes: 587
Portals: 29
Rooms: 184
Faces: 10230/10500
Face Vertices: 44069/50400
Vertices: 12244/13650
Rays recast: 24/15891

I've tested it on low end computers, or should I say way out dated computers and it runs fine. Just to clear the argument that some people have about performance in a 10 year old game. The level has allot of custom ambient sound, you might hear birds in a tree and then hear another bird in another tree or crickes/flys moving about in the grass instead of just playing 1 static ambient sound file, it sounds very realistic. It also has weather Rain/Thunder which comes and goes over long periods of time, took some time. Red can take allot of effort in that sense as most new editors/games has that kinda stuff built into them. Which makes Red fun in a way because you have to work hard and think of ways to get it to at-least something like modern games.

The map is single-player. It's also multi-player, obviously quite different depending on which your playing. But was originally designed as a single-player level. So in the multi-player version you may hear gun battles and zombies in the distance. Those who have played it know air strikes happen and helicopters pass, so it still feels like the single-player map.

Hmm quite allot lol. Basically there is a keyframe which carries the sound through the air to make it sound 3d, also the bombs. When the bombs hit, a Play sound & a Vclip event is triggered then smoke emitters turn on, while causing geo to buildings and a slay_object event is triggered to some objects and also a shake_player event in there too.

I'm quite a sucker for explosions I tend to over do them lol. You can kill people by blowing up objects, for example there's a barrel you can blow up and it causes a door on the other side of the wall to fall over, if anyone's near the door they get crushed lol. Or if your a sniper and can't find a good place to hide, you can just blow a hole in the wall with the snipers bullet and peep through it just don't stand to close to the wall or expect debre in your face lol. Oh and lastly there is a death match level you can call a nuke in, which kills everyone on the game if your not in the safe room, which is fun because everyone has to fight over the one safe place for 60 seconds till it hits.

I'll probably release a demo sometime, there's just allot of files and stuff that needs to be sorted out. some things are there but just haven't been added yet and allot of things need changing before I'm happy with it. quite a few minor bugs like some animations which I'm currently working on now.

I'm also in need of a new model for the HMG, maybe a sniper & a shotgun. 2 guns I would love to have is a M249 Saw and a barret M107A1.



A Mac 11 would also be great but I'm not that great with 3d max as I just haven't got the time to learn it and keep maping/modding at the same time. I have put some new static objects in the game thanks to doc savages help, he taught me how to model/texture and import them into RF. If any of you veteran modellers have any thing that may prove useful to this mod I would be very grateful if you blow some dust of RF and 3d max lol, cheers!

if your working on a mod I'd suggest you do a custom vclip, if not you'll just have to cycle through the ones and see which work.

I have a work around for the shake camera event on dedicated servers. I'll tell soon as I remember what I did.

-edit: OK the way I got players to shake is something like this I still can't figure out for sure what i did but I'll try explain. I have custom objects that automatically explode when you shoot them it could be those causing the shake or it is a explosion event that is linked to them by when_dead. The air-strike happens and destroys the objects that triggers the explode event. It is not the geo-mode which causes the shake. Perhaps the explode event or the objects, I could look more into it if your interested. Was some time ago when i did it I need test it more i think, it may get weaker the further away you are from it so that would be better than the Shake_player event if that's true.

How come there are so many thousands of holes?

You should beable to get a fog distance of up to about 5000
